Let's say ur US wow is in f:\world of warcraft

1. make sure u didn't apply the Netease matrix card.

2. get urself a 3.1.3 CWOW wow.exe and re-name it wow.exe.zhCN, and then copy ur 3.1.3 USWOW wow.exe in another folder, for example, f:\backup. then re-name the USWOW wow.exe in f:\world of warcraft into wow.exe.enUS. then paste the original 3.1.3 USWOW wow.exe back into f:\world of warcraft. Right now u have three wow.exes in f:\world of warcraft.

3. open notepad and write this
set realmlist cn.logon.warcraftchina.com
set patchlist cn.version.warcraftchina.com
set realmlistbn ""
set portal cn
then save it as realmlist.wtf.zhCN

again open notepad and write this
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com
set realmlistbn ""
set portal us
then save it as reamlist.wtf.enUS

4. paste realmlist.wtf.zhCN and reamlist.wtf.enUS in f:\world of warcraft\data\enUS. now there are reamlist.wtf and reamlist.wtf.zhCN and realmlist.wtf.enUS in this folder.

5. open notepad and write this:
f:
cd\World of Warcraft\
copy Wow.exe.zhCN Wow.exe
cd\World of Warcraft\Data\enUS\
copy realmlist.wtf.zhCN realmlist.wtf
then save it as CWOW.bat in desktop

again open notepad and write this:
e:
cd\World of Warcraft\
copy Wow.exe.enUS Wow.exe
cd\World of Warcraft\Data\enUS\
copy realmlist.wtf.enUS realmlist.wtf
then save it as USWOW.bat in desktop

7. double click CWOW.bat, then double cliek wow.exe, and u can log into CWOW with US client.
Double click USWOW.bat, then double click wow.exe, and u can log into USWOW with US client.

8. if ur wow folder is d:\warcraft, u need to adjust the .bat content as follows:
d:
cd\warcraft\
copy Wow.exe.enUS Wow.exe
cd\Warcraft\Data\enUS\
copy realmlist.wtf.enUS realmlist.wtf
then save it as USWOW.bat in desktop

9. don't try this if u r not sure about what i said above. That's just the content of some articles in NGA. There were players who, successfully log in CWOW with USWOW client but they also said many problems would occur if there's the tinest mistake in the adjustment. For the time being, i guess playing CWOW with CWOW client is the best. Like someone said before, let's give Netease a break.

My computer is still downloading stuff... won't be able to try this before the evening.
Now I'm not sure it'll work, it's just a way to tell your program to start on US or chinese servers in one click. I don't think the guy actually tried to log in the game, I would have been more confident if he had posted a picture ingame of the english client in chinese servers...
But if someone can try fast would be cool

I've watched the comments under the chinese thread lee linked, they also report the wrong version message.

I think there's little we can do. let's hope it will be solved in futur patches

I consulted some technicals in the forum and they said due to the different logon client, the Netease unique launcher.exe, there is no way for EU/US client to log on CWOW. I called the customer server of Netease and the lady, which didn't pay attention to my flirting, promised that this problem will be solved in the 2nd patch after the beta test.

i can also confirm that they will most likely solve this issue in a future patch, had my gf write an email to tech support:

if ur nto comfortable changing mpq files (like me) we can just wait and hope that the next patch will include us. I dont think they will have the beta up for too long, does anyone have an ETA for the official release date?

Wow good to hear that they will fix this in the futur. let's see. Now for the change in the other thread, it feels complex on first sight but it really isn't and with proper backup of your files there's no risks.

Good, I read the other thread but didn't really pay attention to every detail as i'm not really concerned at the moment.
But if they fix this in a future patch then it'll be okay, maybe i will be back home on time

i just hope that they'll fix it before wolk launches...
this time i want to be one of the first that goes raiding and pvping...
but on the other hand... if they dont adjust it in the future... then we'll just have to improve our chinese and play with the chinese client
