Juste before I've created a trial account(14days trial) on https://signup.wowtaiwan.com.tw/09Accountmgmt/CreateTrialAccount/index.asp Form is really simple to fill up with google translate and it seems that we can use our foreign IDs(passport) so feels good. Note that I strongly recommand to create a trial as soon as possible, caus if there's a blackout in China like last summer Wow Taiwan will lock the account creations to prevent their servers being overpopulated.

I don't know how to update the account to a permanent one yet but credit wise you can buy game cards on chinese territory(FEDKA) and buy WOW taiwan credit on their website : http://www3.kaka01.com/Ykt/SearchProduct.asp?Keywords=%C4%A7%CA%DE%CA%C0%BD%E7

it cost 35RMB for 30hours of game, but 100RMB for a monthly abonnement, 300RMB for 3month, with unlimited hours.

Right now patching my game to 3.2.2 and start a toon to test the ping and see how it looks. If more of you guys like to join come post here and we discuss about a destination and other details.

It's not about definitly leaving Wow China for good, but \ it's always good to have a few options, and Taiwan allow us to play with our foreign passports + once 70 you gonna have the chance to immediatly take the fly for northrend

Been working and finishing of my studies in Australia for last cple months but really miss China lifestylz

I was interested in getting back involved with wow china but have a few questions....
1)servers back up and if so how is netease handling wow china?
2)would it be worth it to play from australia or would lag be to bad?
3) all 3 of my accounts are still registered with the9, as i havent transfered them over to netease, is this something i should worry about
4)is the expansion out yet

As far as wow China goes we are still waiting for Wotlk, and we have a new episod of Wow authorisation of dunno what, so some of us are tempted to start some rolls on Taiwan to test the conditions there.

Dunno how would be the ping from austratlia to mainland but I think it s much much better than playing from US or Europe, might be worth trying. WOTLK isn't out yet and there's some news saying that one of the office of the goverment didn't give netease the approval to run the game and now it's all very confusing, but people can play for free from now.

For your accounts no worries you have to merge them with a battlenet account, look at the stickies on the general forum. Note that you'll need to use the ID of your wife and use her real name when you enter the informations in the form.

We need a 3rd party program to run the game for now caus there was some compatibilities issues with the US and chinese versions so also look at the numerous guides in the forums.

Today I'm gonna start a toon on Taiwan servers, you can create a trial account for free, if you are interested we could meet there. I'm just trying to figure out where the foreigners on Taiwan are but most post on the forums about it are older than 1 or 2 years lol.

Hey nous cannot test it now caus when I login It said my prepaid time is already used... seems their 14 days trial is a little bit bugged. I gonna try to recharge it with fedka and give you more info later. You can use the last foreign version 3.2.2 to connect on their servers so this is not a problem.

I gonna talk more about ping and all once I get in but I don't think you need a proxy, ping should be ok

It's really easy to make wow.tw english, and generally all mainland china players use a proxy service to lower the ping, at peak hours it gets pretty bad.

There are a fair amount of oceanic guilds as well as ping reduction options for those who'd rather go to US servers over TW. I get 300-400 ping on average to west coast servers without any service lowering it.

But... You need to pay if you play on EU/US servers

Payment is roughly the same as the unlimited monthy fee of taiwan.

For me it would be only worth playing there if the ping is good(max 300 in a 10mans). Sad I cannot try it right now, cannot put credit in my account.

How much does a proxy cost to get something good?

US proxy is around 6-8$ a month, my GM said TW is less than 30 RMB a month, I'm setting mine up this week. He said all 8 of our guilds ToC raids require it, so it seems raiding guilds expect it as much as epic gems.

Don't think a CC is needed... my girlfriend bought all my taiwan stuff on taobao. As for the proxy, I'll see, but for the most part wow.tw is fine without a proxy.

try to buy in taobao guys its called seasonal card (季卡) ... i bought mine for 206 rmb for 3 months unlimited hours. It differs though from one seller to another. A friend of mine bought the same card for 230 rmb.

i live in shanghai and play in 奈辛瓦里(na xin wa li) or Nessingwary in english with my fellow chinese colleagues and former guild in cn3.

I play without proxy, just using china telcom 2Mb connection and the ping is around 77-100ms. In Orgrimmar or any city i get 300ms max in a "rush hour".

its not so bad actually. A lots of new things tbh but we will catch up with it i am sure hehe.

Playah 100ms isn't bad at all, now most important to me would be to know the ping you have in a 10man or 25man raid withtout proxy, did you have the occasion to test it already?

Edit : is your server pve or pvp? ally or horde?

i am afraid i dont have the answer yet bolo since i am not 80 yet. I am only 45 atm. But in 5men instances the ping is also okay.

All my friend in guild use proxy to play in TWOW, so i really dont have any accurate data for 10/25-men instances.

Do the bonusses count aswell for inviting a friend on taiwan servers?

Last year or so I invited a friend on europe server to play wow with me we got like 3x normal xp so lvling was very easy and we could summon each other, i think we got 80 in play time 5 days or so ( the bonus stopped at 60 ).

Just lvl'd my hunter and dont wanne do it all over again since i just did :p but with those bonusses it would be a lot less agony !

No recruit a friend from my research, can't use authenticators so really your account is damn vulnerable (no grid number thing either). there is no BNET in Taiwan.

Download the US version and update to the latest version. Then do the realmlist changes and add Chinese fonts. It's that easy.

halamadrid you can recharge 30 hours like a prepaid card, should watch on taobao. I think we can also buy prepaid cards in newspaper shops to recharge wow Taiwan, but right now I don't know which ones can do this. On fedka.cn the price for 30hours playtime would cost you a 35RMB prepaid card.

maybe i should go to bainaohui, the computer center of beijing to see if they are selling taiwan prepaid card, if not i will try taobao...hows the ping from beijing?

I had a buddy of mine pick me up a few cards from Taiwan. I can't charge my free trial until I enter in personal info, but it needs an address. How important is this? Can I put any address from the internet in there just to satisfy them (like a store address), or should I try and get my friend to let me use his family's address?
