hey guys,
i played on china 2 for a while and im looking to try out cataclysm but the update automatically updated the client in chinese so when i log in everything is in chinese etc etc. Do i need to reinstall and get the english client? im a bit confused as i think the fix is for a foreign client being fixed to chinese servers, right? a little help would be great. i would like to join the crazy waiguorens and i have an 80 druid that i could transfer. I went to the server and no one was online. :-(

also, i got the foreign streaming client and it just continues to the chinese client. maybe a full reinstall would be good, but it's a huge pain.

Welcome back from your vacation. Playball and I are both now playing with the crazy waiguorens so I hope to see you join us as well.

Its really odd to have nobody online, actually. There always seems to be at least 5-10 people there and upward of 20 in the evenings.

The guide for getting the full English client is pretty good, so come join us with your soon-to-be Troll or Tauren Druid.

Ok yes i know about the EU client fix. my problem is i think my client is chinese now. when i log in, its all in chinese. suggestions?

Lucky Bastard. Kunming actually has some scenery and the weather is generally comfortable all year round. Much better than here in Shanghai.

Anyway, if the client is all in Chinese now, chances are that you ran the update through the chinese servers. I THINK that you can fix that without a full reinstall by running the EU version of Launcher.exe while making sure your realmlist.wtf has the update servers listed as the EU ones (US one below):

set realmlist cn.logon.warcraftchina.com
set patchlist enUS.patch.battle.net:1119/patch
set realmlistbn ""
set portal cn

As always, there's also the option of rerunning the streaming client for the EU or US version.

i'm just doing a full reinstall from that launcher. see you guys soon on alterac. i dont know if i have the money to transfer my druid over though because i think it costs like 200 RMB right? (since we were alli *cough*)

180 rmb for faction change aqnd server transfer.

i see. well first i need to get the game up and going. then maybe i'll transfer. or i'll just stat a new guy on alterac. we'll see
