Latest patch have been new and exciting, as everyone can eventually purchase Epic PVP set and even Rank 14 Weapons by earning Honor Points.
However honor points have been reduced immensely by about 1/10 the amount, then Blizzard reduced it a further 30% after that.
Honor per player killed is now about 16-25 it seems to varies still taking account on the rank of the player.

At its current rate most players can only accumulate about 500-800 honor points per hour solo. so getting that big Grand Marshal / High Warlord 2 hander which cost 45000 can take you 50-90 Hours of game time doing it solo which can take you a whole month if you're playing casually for 3-4 hours a day. If you can gather up an excellent Pre-made PVP group the best way to grind Honor is in AB and win in 5-6mins. You have to capture 5 Node at the start to achieve this, if the group is unorganised and the group is unable to 5 cap, it can take about 15mins for the game to end..
A 5 Node capture in AB is worth about 200-250 Honor assuming about 20-25 Honor Kill per game averaging at 5 honor per kill.
Maximum achievable honor with PVP group is with AB win every 6 mins + 2mins of waiting time for the next AB to start so that means about 7.5 AB wins per hour which can accumulate about 1500 - 1875 Honor per hour.
However this relies on winning every game which can prove difficult as you will eventually face with other PVP group. And scouting can prove to be time consuming during peak time where there is a lot of PVP group running.


Guide to Honor farming solo
Don't you just hate relying on joining a PVP group to get decent honor, with this system you can still earn about 1200-1400 GUARANTEE honor per hour solo, no matter how bad you are at PVP. This strategy works best during peak times, when there is a lot of PVP group running WSG and AB.
In first 15 mins of AV about 10 Lieutenants will die, including Belinda or Galvangar and 2 Towers will be destroyed earning you about 150-211 of Bonus honor + 60-100 Honor from 20 HK at around 3-5 honor per kill, which makes AV potential 210-311 honor for the first 15 minutes GUARANTEE . With AB and WSG its great when you get in a game with great players, but the game can draw out for a long time wasting your precious honor grinding time .

Now the trick to take advantage of this by exiting the game by getting queue for another BG. Because being stuck in a long AV will hurt your Honor grind. Helps a lot if you have 2 accounts or access to your friend's account, just load 2 world of warcraft using 1 computer and ALT-Tab between the game and queue yourself out. However if you don't have 2 accounts, message your friend or anyone to queue you out into 2v2 skirmish arena, and once joined you can leave arena straight away and you wont receive deserter debuff.

so in Summary the best way to earn Honor solo.
- Join a new game of AV
- Stick around and play defense for 15-20mins or until 2 Towers are captured.
- Play defense but do not recapture the graveyards, let the game flow as quickly as possible.
- Get queue out of AV and join a 2v2 Skirmish arena, once joined right click on the icon by your mini map and select 'leave arena'. You wont have the deserter debuff because the arena is worth 0 honor.
-Rejoin AV and repeat


Don't worry about BG Tokens, with the 30% honor reduction you have enough tokens long before you have enough Honor to use them with.
Don't stress when the opposing faction are winning very quickly, the sooner the game ends the better, most honor is earned in the first 15mins on both sides. <

Alterac Valley

If you're especially good at PVP then the best place to farm honor is at the beginning by Snowfall Graveyard.
Begin by riding and wait at the centre of the map and wait until most of the opposing faction ride pass, then you will notice the slow people that are left behind because they have a slow mount this is good indication that they don't have good gear which makes them easier to kill .

Horde
Kill the slow mounted players behind the rest of the group. Work your way to Snowfall Graveyard but don't capture it or else it will be a long game, then PVP your way backward towards Frostwolf base, Captain Galvangar fortress >; Ice Blood Tower >; Ice Blood and so on killing any alliance on their own.


Alliance
Kill the slow mounted players behind the rest of the group. Defend Stoneheart tower and Belinda, make sure Horde do not capture Snowfall or else it will be a long game. Once Snowfall is captured defending at Stormpike Graveyard will get you a lot of honor.

Since before the storm patch i have used this method to farm honor and i now have the GM shoulders,gloves,longsword,swiftblade,the gun as well as 3 epic mounts. you wont always be able to achieve 1k/hr but u can get 800 if u do it right and dont hang around when your team starts messing up. happy farming!

I might also add that it would be better to keep the honor instead of using it on lvl60 items that will be obsolete at door opening.

yes... But as now there is no rank anymore, i don't think it counts anymore

True, you could save them for the epic belt,boot n bracer at 70 but u may also choose to buy stuff at 60 bcuz they are~ T2.5 level quality and last till 65 and it doesnt really take that long to get points while following the guide

i think the players highest rank. i will check this out to make sure

i think warlord PVP stuff is not as good as 2.5 ... I would say a bit inferior to T2

@Deadanus: the set bonuses of the warlord/marshal are inferior but the individual stats are pretty good and give a nice boost to stamina, agi and crit chance(hunter), which is always nice.

i made quite a few comparaisons and warlord set are usefull mainly for HP. It is pretty good for PVP, but most other sets are better in my opinion. Basic point is that, at the begining of TBC, all this gear will be quickly replaced and it is better to save honor for lvl70 end game gear

pvp mounts only costs tokens and riding skill

btw i think this topic should be moved to general in game stuffs?

I looked at the tokens you need, almost 200 AV token...with Hordies being total idiots and always looking AV you can be sure I am not spending 1 token for cool looks.

I also looked at the cost of one banner, man that is expensive! 20 token and a couple hundreds of token for a a stupid banner?
