Playing english version in China _

Before I get flamed for starting a new topic on something that is discussed alot elsewhere I'd just like to say i've read all those posts and followed instructions but found when it came to installing and patching the US version it is somewhat outdated.

According to the US version the patch is currently 3.0.3 as far as the patch notes state but on www.wowchina.com it is stating to download version 3.0.5.

My questions are:- After a complete delete of WOW and re-install:-
1. Even if you change the realmlist your going to have compatability issues with different version of the game (or is this not effeceted by the slight difference in numbers and 3.0.3 and 3.0.5 are infact the same content and no errors will occur)?
2. If i Download the 8.46gb file for version 2.4.3-3.0.5 from www.wowchina.com is this a full install of the chinese version which means I do not have to have any previous versions of the game installed?
3. I bought the CDs for both WOW and BC but there is a gap inbetween 1.11.2 and 2.1.0 and when I try to use the updater it just keeps coming up with error messages is there a place to get the chinese versions of these older patches? (this does not matter if indeed the above is complete install and you don't need any other versions installed).

Funnily setting up an account to play with a card was relativley simple and went to internet cafe where my account worked no problems it's just trying to figure out getting the game installed properly and working at home that is completely baffling me at the moment as I've now installed English version (compatability issues after patching), Chinese version from CD (unable to update properly) and am now downloading the 8.64gb file from the chinese wow website.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as my US wow account stopped working on the 24th saying that the account and password did not exist, so WOW was going to be how I spent my christmas in China and instead im entirely fed up with the game and frustrated to no end (to much lag on US servers hence the move to chinese servers hopefully).

Hi, it seems you need the wow.exe file frome chinese version.
Rename the original one and put the chinese wow/exe (3.0.5) in your own wow 3.0.3 directory. It will work.

Try to get this file from a wangba (internet cofee) or from a Chinese friend or Black send us a link few weeks ago to share this file.

the topic: https://wow-in-chinese.forum2jeux.com/technical-support-f2/wow-305-aka-the-evil-patch-episode-ii-t933.htm
The file maybe is missing now.

Ok le ! see ya!

Hi,

I do have the chinese wow.exe in the english world of warcraft directory.

I summarize:

I patched up my english installation up to 3.0.3

I have the 3.0.5 wow.exe from the chinese version in the directory.

I updated the realmlist.

I get a "version error" obviously because the chinese wow.exe is 3.0.5 but the english files are 3.0.3

The thing is I can't seem to to patch the english version higher than 3.0.3!

I even try to "fool" the program by copying over the BNUpdate.exe from the chinese directory to some how force it to patch from 3.0.3 to 3.0.5 -> it did not work.

any idea what I'm doing wrong?

(my chinese WoW works fine)

addendum...

It even seems my english wow.exe works fine and try to connect to us servers.
strangely enough, trying to launch wow.exe (english) will make it to automatically reset the SET REALMLIST line in the config.wtf to "us.logon.worldof warcraft.com" !
