It's only 6 servers that are currently down. Of course I have to be on one of them >.>.

Edit: Nvm more servers show up as red now, goddam where's the beijing security!

wowchina.com always shows the servers all up, but I know right now I can't login to Shanghai 1 or Sichuan 7....

This is just rediculous, I highly doubt this a random server issue and more inclined to believe The9 is just fucking around with us.

Well, the world server is up and down like a see saw. I honestly wonder how The9 lasted so long with such reliability issues. Then again, who knows if it's entirely The9's fault. Chances are, they're busy downloading things from one server computer to another (netease's) and this process is overloading the current world server.

I guess with an mmo, it's difficult to make a process like this work smoothly. It's easy to imagine how to make a seamless transition from one set of servers, to another, but I've learned a long time ago things are hardly ever done with the care that they should be done with.

For the most part, The9's servers have been fairly reliable. I think maybe lately they've just lost any ambition to maintain them.

It wouldn't surprise me if ALL of the data files for China could fit on a single 1TB drive. The actual characters files aren't that big individually.
