It works!! I managed to get to the "Choose realm" screen but they're all offline atm. I had to do something a little differently though, using a GB client. Basically I had to go into my data folder then rename the enGB file to enCN as well as all the other folders inside it to enCN. Change the realmlist to China and it works like a charm. Still have to use the toCN.bat skeleton.

Crom if you use the included batch file "TOwowCN3.2.2.12484.bat" there's nothing to do manually, just make sure you select the right language on 2nd menu. And skeleton.exe isn't needed anymore

Yeah, i tried that but for some reason it kept giving me a divxdecoder error every time i opened the client with wow.exe and everything else besides the toCN.bat that i've used before. Anyways, all it took was a minute to rename the files/realmlist and i can open it as i did before.

Nothing is certain though until the release at 4pm.

Since you already played around do you already have an idea how to use the Chinese client and add European files for the language? Maybe same way as before.......

I am still downloading the Chinese patch and i am to lazy to reinstall a European client or downgrade my current one.

As far as moving files from the foreign to the chinese client goes, everything is the same as before, just replace 3.1.3 clients with 3.2.2. when you follow the guides(dunno where to find them though).

patch9.mpq is the same as patch3.mpq except the textfile inside has been modified to match the new chinese build. The number doesn't matter as long as you don't call it patch1 or patch2.

Bolomas, tired both but same problem. I have several other WOW folders and the other ones will still load. It was after I updated to 3.2.2a and ran the batch file I get this error. Any other ideas?

you have to be more specific. maybe pm me some screens of your wow folder. I've been using the batch to patch my client and the game is starting just fine.

I've got several versions of a US client on my computer including 3.2.2a but apparently I've got no US version of Wrath of the Lich King, and unlike in the US, you cannot log into the Chinese version without these files.

I need the equivalent of WoW-3.2.2-LK-Upgrade-installer-zhCN for the US. I haven't been able to find anything yet.

So I tired the restore option in the TOwow folder, and now it just gives me a failed to open archive ****]speech-****.MPQ.

This really sucks, because now I only have the modififed English client from 3.1.3, whatever happened has messed up my 3.3.2a. I will take some screen shots of the folders. Hopefully I can get this working.

Ok I managed to manually restore the files to how they were by opening the batchfile to see what it did. I can now launch the game to 3.2.2,10505 login screen.

I'll try to manually do it now, instead of using the batch file. Will let you know if I get it working.

That happened to me also TGIC. I figured it was because I was using a BC and not WLK client though. Not sure what your story is. You already downloaded the patches it shouldn't take long to do over.

Bolo I see the links and patches and went to look but I do not see a WLK installer like the Chinese have.

It's a batch file so basically instead of having you copying files and renaming stuff, you only have to extract the folder in the right place and then double click the .bat.

Now if you do a mistake like restoring it into an enGB when it's in fact an enUS you gonna get errors like this.

So first tell me what client you are using. enGB?enUS? you said it was english.

if you have a modified 3.1.3 version, you'll have to undo the modifications in order upgrade it. I mean you won't be able to apply a patch on it otherwise.
That's where having a backup of the files you replaced or of the full client become useful.
If you think you won't be able to restore it then just reinstall it.

It is giving me an error on the speech mpq. Can you upload a screenshot of your data folder so I can compare? I know I just have to rename a few files.

Ok, I have no fuckin Idea of what you did. But

1. You don't have a wotlk 3.2.2 client but a tbc3.2.2(at best).
2. You have files containing zhCN, enCN, enUS. I don't know how you got there, but just know that the batch file doesn't rename files into zhCN. So your install was messed before you even used it. You have to rename all your files containing zhCN and enCN in their name with enUS instead. And rename the folder wow/data/enCN into enUS as well.

That won't solve the fact that you don't have a wotlk client. So anyway you need to download wotlk and reinstall your game.

Thats pretty much what I just discovered. I ran all the patches from 3.1.3 and they worked fine though. I just cleaned up the DATA directory, and logged in the game. I got to the charcter select screen and it says I am authorized to play, but do not have the WOTLK data. I know what happened at least. I updated from a copy of 3.1.3 that was modified to run on chinese servers 2 years ago, so that must have messed it up a little. I am missing 3.mpq files in my directory that I can see.

Could you please post a copy of your data directory and main folder so I can compare file sizes? I am missing 2 lichking.mpqs and 1 patch-enCN-3.MPQ

I think with those 3 files it will run fine. I just want to verify file sizes.

patch-enCN-3.MPQ = 544 mb

In total my Data folder is 16.4gb

The best is you go download the wotlk installer (link is on first post).

And yeah in the menu just select 1 to patch. the day you wanna cancel the patch then select 2 to rename the files back and restore the original files.

Yes it'll work BUT : you have to make sure your client is an updated 3.2.2 WOTLK and not 3.2.2 TBC

yes hoisin. though just a detail. You have to reset the changes you made to play on the chinese servers (Like renaming the files back from enCN to enUS, and replacing the chinese client rootfile by the ones you backed up), or unless I'm wrong you won't be able to apply a new patch.

If non of this make sence to you, don't bother and just download a fresh new client. Link is on first post.

When I update to a 100% for sure 3.2.2a and use your auto install it keeps missing files and such. I make sure they're all in that correct folder. When I wake up I'll try a manual install, but distressing the auto updater won't work.

PS: the fonts link doesn't work once you get to the actual mirror part >_<

igniter when you use the batch file there is two "missing files" lines, this is normal. If you have more than that then it means you don't have a wotlk version OR the batch folder is in the wrong location.

This is a very very important thing. The batch and the other files should be in folder "wow/TOwowCN".
If you have them in "wow/TOwowCN/TOwowCN" it won't work, because when you start the batch it will look for files directly outside of his own folder.

Like around one year before I want offer all guyz with a missing western WOTLK client to come with your external harddisk to Suzhou and we make a copy. The file is a european client with enGB, deDE, frFR, esES and around 8GB big. After installation the client has the version 3.0.1. All patches in any language you can download at http://www.0daypatch.info/

Since long time I don't have anymore dvd burner, so copy a disk and send around is impossible. I only use image files and daemon tools.

For those, which are located in Shanghai, it costs you 2 hours of your life to move your ass to Suzhou and back.

For all others; No I will not buy external harddisks, copy the file and send the harddisks around the mainland. There are night trains to Suzhou available. :-)

Manual patching works just as well! Good steps. Now someone needs to write a guide on how to add an authenticator. I added mine like last summer, so I forget how I did it (friend of mine is adding one).
