You guys know that blizzard and netease had a different with the Chinese authorities because their alliance wasn't allowed by the current law.

For now They got the right to launch the game, but for non-commercial use, that's why we are playing for free.

So the betting pool is open : how long do you guys blizzard will let their servers open for free.

I'll say if in 2-3weeks they don't get to authorization to make us pay to play, we gonna have to make a pause for 2-3 more months.

Anyway IMO if they'll screw it up again I truly think that a lot of guys are merely going to give up this casual available game.

And on the plus side it seems that Aion get more and more gamer thanks to their marketing. I saw this morning a subway (Sh, line 1) which has been totally customised with Aion theme.

Subway advertisement for Aion isn't new, actually I saw it 1 week before the9 planned to shutdown the servers on line 2 lol, indeed was pretty clever.
Though it seems that their servers are a little empty now.

Where there is bribe there is a way! Netease and Blizzard must find a solution I do not want to give up my new chara.

They should put some ads inside and make it free-to-play ^^

I think blizzard will just pull wow out china. The servers are not blizzards it the NETEASE servers.

Blizzard could patch things up with THE9 but i think they want wow to crash now.

i would say middle September is very promising but if the game does not open in one month, maybe something serious has happened. Middle september and november, that's my guess

Since blizzard and Netease are loosing millions of dollars. Netease lossing 3 months of contract time.

Nothing to do with The9. Netease have a service who is a joint-venture with blizzard. So the governement is investigating if this service has participed to the transaction(and it probably did) because it's not allowed by the chinese law.
The US recently pursued China to the OMC(Mondial Office of Commerce), for the rules China use with imported Audiovisual products. It's also concerning the affair of Wow China. China was partially condemned but China decided to defend itself against the condamnation so it's only the beginning.

well that has nothing to do with wow in china. There going after state own companies. Netease is no state owned or is The9.

If actually read China still has right to censor what they want. It state own Disturborters is only thing china got in trouble with. China won most of stuff in WTO just lost distrubuting part.

So china still keep wow out if wants too. Can still deem it offences to there population they have that right. Every country has that right.

It`s 3:45 am and I wanted to level my twink because Im jetlagged like crazy. I find a new addon that I want to use and install it.
When I want to go back into the game suddenly I get a weird error message saying I should contact the service.
The password wasn`t wrong and the acc name wasn`t either so I check duowan if anybody noticed something and apparently people that logged out after 3 can not log back in.
Something like this has never happened to me in 4 years of playing WoW.
I wonder what theyre up to now...

I asked a friend of mine (chinese so he's quite aware of all this stuff) in Maduolan. Here is his mail. It seems that chinese players are not really worried about this issue.

Nous the problem is not that the governement isn't approving WLK, the problem is the governement isn't approving Netease to even commercialise TBC, because of Blizzard and Netease controversed Joint-Venture filliale.

If they never had this filliale it would never have been a problem. Netease paid Blizzard around 310million US dollars to exploit WOW, Starcraft II, Warcraft III, during a period of 3 years in China, Wow servers were supposed to reopen 2 months ago. Add that some peoples are paid each month to have wow server working, GM, customer service, Servers fee etc : if they cannot make us pay for it, they will just ask the workers to return home and shutdown the servers until they get a farkin license.

It simple of yes or no. I think governemnt need say yes it ok for Netease or say no. Quit dragging there feet. If its illegally for Netease to have it just say no and blizzard go find somebody else. Quit wasting more time. I love how chinese think it never yes or no it just maybe.

bcastleberg, for Western people it would be yes or no, but not here in China, cause it's all about the money.

Nah i been in china 6 years, I seen crack down to much. I see Netease buying the joint with foreigner company, It be easier at that time.

Nah, they always crack a few heads just to try and show willing. Same with pirate DVDs. Every so often they'll make an example about one or two shops and bust them down but a few weeks later its back to normal for almost everyone else. Sometimes even in the same store that got busted down a couple of weeks before. Every so often they have to let it known that they are not completely turning a blind eye to things they don't fully agree with, but have to allow for the sake of the people and social stability. While they make a big fuss over probably the biggest online game and game company, it makes everyone else think twice about similar ventures, even if the end result is a 'yes' to Netease. Most other companies won't want to go through the same amount of effort and money-losing time to get to a 'yes' stage.
