You Know, it's really frustrating waiting for the9 to enable TBC, so I registered a trial account on Taiwan server. Although it's an trial account for free, you can play most of the TBC contents, including using the 2 new races. And you don't need to buy a cdkey to update this trial account to normal account! Just charge this account with game time card and it will be updated automatically! However, for those who can't read much Chinese, I'm writing a specific guide here.
Notice you only need to finish step 1&2 to start playing. Step 3 are for those who want to improve their latency.
Step 1: register a trial account for 30 hours free play time!

Follow the notes in this picture:

I strongly recommend you to fill in your real personal information. It may be used later to recover a stolen or frozen account! Btw it is officially accepted for players from other regions to play TW server so don't worry about that.
Step 2: connect to the game. You can either use a TW version game client or a US version. They are currently of the same version No. Just change the realmlist as following:
set realmlist tw.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist tw.version.worldofwarcraft.com
The realmlist is displayed correctly in the game provided you have installed Chinese fonts.
You can also play with a mainland China version, however you must replace the wow.exe with that of a US or TW version.
Now you are ready to play!I myself created a blood elf mage named
Amateras on
地獄吼 , it's really fun playing that! If you also want to play on this server, feel free to contact me in the game!
Step 3: use VPN to improve the lag.
When I connected to the TW server directly, my latency was around 500ms. Not unacceptable but still uncomforting. So I applied for a TW VPN. Most of the VPN services are not for free of course, but I managed to get a test account to test speed first lol. With VPN enabled , the latency in the game is below 200ms in daytime and between 200ms and 300ms at night. Currently I'm still testing on different VPNs. The latency may differ from different regions so you may be lucky enough to have a low latency at the very beginning, so check the game first! If someone need to use VPN and want some advice from me plz post below.
