Foreign community at Chinese World of Warcraft For those who want to play World of Warcraft cheaper on the Chinese realms (in Chinese, English or other languages) |
WARLORDS OF DREANOR - RELEASE ON 13.11.2014 FOR THOSE HAVING CONNECTIVITY PROBLEMS CHECK HERE! |
|
| | Fri 27 Nov 2009 - 16:21 # | So I'm officially quitting wow; haven't played in weeks, and have no motivation to continue playing whatsoever.
I can't give my actual account, the one with a few 70s, as my friend is using that one. However, I do have an account, with absolutely no characters on it or anything. (This was my old account, the one that got banned)
So if anybody needs an account, for whatever reason, please discuss it here. Its verified over 18, so theres no problem
I dunno if there will be absolutely no interest at all, or so much interest that it will be impossible to manage, so just talk about whether you want the account right here.
I guess the 'winner' (That who is in most need of the account/has the best reason) will get the account, and I'll just PM you the info.
It was just sitting idle and I thought it might be interesting to 'auction' it off.
| | | Mon 30 Nov 2009 - 5:31 # | Giving it to Globuline, seeing as nobody wants it.
If there are any objections, say something now.
Giving it at the end of the day.
| | | Mon 30 Nov 2009 - 5:43 # | Hey uber you gonna leave China? Caus if you aren't why don't you keep your account? Wotlk will surely (finaly) arrive and there will be plenty of new stuff.
We are all bored by the game right now, so you shouldn't throw away your account on a blink imo ^^

I'm sorry...
Best way to check new content is USA serv with VPN or TW server.
| | | Mon 30 Nov 2009 - 6:17 # | Deadanus do you have any sources about these official announcements? Caus there has been a lots of rumors last month and finally nothing happened and Chinese players (who probably can follow the situation better than us ) seems still confident about WOTLK's launch. | | |

The situation seem to be that Blizzard created a company in Guandong with netease to continue WOW service in China. 9C (the9) is now attacking this new netease/blizz company for taking their use of WOW license and blizz for breach of the contract. The tribunal for business conflicts is know in China to take very long time to make decision and the government can't give any new license to exploit WOW game before this issue is fixed. Another problem is that the Chinese gov has already rejected 2 times the proposition for the launch of WOTLK. They are not too kind on zombies, undeads, and things of the sort (keep in mind that even pirates of the carabean was rejected for the "undeath" content)... I don't know what is their problem with that I know that the second proposal from netease/blizz was a version with major changes and even the complete removal of the DK class and this version was also rejected. This information is taken from chinese forums that quote declarations from the9 and netease. I can't be 100% sure of their seriousness but it seems believable. I just think that the main and final issue can only be solved by money and guanxi and i don't think they have enough of it. I had my main char and many alts in China and i really regret the time i was playing there but i think it's better to go for the new content in another zone
| | | Mon 30 Nov 2009 - 6:49 # | I still can not imagine that the9 is still trying to get back the licence. So they are slowing down Netease procedure... | | |
| | | Mon 30 Nov 2009 - 6:56 # | Yeah but some things you talk about are "infos" we saw about 10 months ago, and forums are always talking about a lot of things and finally it's just wind.
Did you know that some western websites reported that Wow China closed since the beginning of november?
Other said that it's impossible to create new accounts and we can play free of charge; still I'm paying for what I play and new account creation is fully available.
I'm quiet sure the9 and netease story has already been solved. It was blizzard right to shitcan the9, the9 just tried to "save the face" in the story because losing warcraft would either ruin their activity but also their reputation. And the lenghty blackout was because netease and blizzard had a joint-venutre together and Chinese goverment doesn't allow them to let this joint-venture take part in the deal. So they had to investigate that everything was alright. Looks like it was.
The problem in China, it takes time to get approvals, people need to test the content(not the kind of stuff you do in 1 day, particulary if they have been adding some additional content, new tiers etc), see what need to be corrected to get the approval. Look Aion Europe is already at the version 1.5 when China just got their 1.2 version. Everything(foreign mmo at least) get ages to get past chinese censore.

The point is just that i don't want to play a MMO with no content update for months (years ?)...
I don't think it is fair for the players. There is nothing much to do besides rolling tons of alts or going for arena.
WOTLK was out in 13 NOV 2008. It's more than 1 year now...
| | | Mon 30 Nov 2009 - 7:16 # | Yeah I agree with you, personaly I play much less than before "my wife is happy with this", trying to up my achievement(kalimdor, eastern kingdom Loremaster I'm coming), a few daily ganks at shattra's doors and on my way to farm S4 healing gear.
I feel your pain, if China had to shutdown their servers at the beginning of the month I'd probably been on Taiwan server. But now I just feel like if it was to start from 0 I'd rather stop to play and wait than reroll...

When I read things like that I always think : god damn may my come-back to civilization be as quick as possible. Next year I'll probably be in France or Canada. Im so waiting for it more than i expect WOLK in china really. I mean damn. Chinese ppl can and WILL see zombies if they want to. There are so many ways to dodge gov's censor. I don't think governement only wants to keep ppl's minds clear from undead/ghosts/horror movies/everything related to american system. I mean...people are NOT dumb. If gov says no undead, well, everything people will want to get is WOLK. If gov says no facebook, people will be forced to violate rules (but LEGIT rules i mean, not the fact that FB is prohibited or anything) by pirating stuff, getting proxies,.... I think the point they miss is that if they want to become #1 Country, they really need to give people more privacy and liberty. Now this is not a "let's flame China lol !" forum so i won't get any further but damn...THIS IS A FREAKING GAMMME NOBODY CARE ABOUT SEEING BONES OR NOT !
| | | Mon 30 Nov 2009 - 11:48 # | I think the real problem isn't bones but Chinese gov crackdown over foreign MMO. Problems are multiple.
MMO games like world of warcraft can caus a dependency over young chinese people. Social conditions are very tough in China so youngs wasting their time on this game instead of their studies can have very dramatic consequences in long-term. I mean spending more than 6 hours a day on internet in China is considered as a psychological illness and can get you send in special centers like if you were alcoholic...
Then tere's the problem of censor. They don't want political, ideological messages to sneak in their back, so that's why it always takes months to get something past the chinese customs.
| | | Mon 30 Nov 2009 - 12:58 # | POINT IS:
the account is totally empty, with absolutely no characters on it whatsoever.
I don't want it. I'm done with WoW and not going back.
It's going to Globuline.

Well, cigarettes are addictive too, cheap, over-sold in China and above all...deadly. If social conditions are so tough, why bother filling hospitals with lung cancer people instead of banning cigarettes from the country ? It's the same, the truth is, and you said it, cigarettes sold here are chinese ones. The fact that WoW is not chinese just pisses them off, that's all. And the victims are...the players.
| | | Mon 30 Nov 2009 - 13:23 # | damn-it. HAWT SPAWT SHIELD IS RE-WORKING AGAIN ! AND FASTER THAN BEFORE !
