Quote: "However, the dispute did impact the release of WOW's first expansion, The Burning Crusade. GAPP reportedly denied NetEase's application to localize the expansion pack as part of the interagency conflict. Citing analyst reports, Reuters notes that NetEase will now have an opportunity to bring the fast-selling add-on to China." Here they talk about TBC, not about WOTLK.
I assume that WOTLK will come one day, but at the moment it looks like only the dispute about Neteas as an operator is being saulved. The next step would be for Netease to try and get the approval for WOTLK. As we all know, that can take a long time, just remember when Netease took over from The9, wasnt that like 9 month ago? I guess we will see Nordend in China by the end of this year.
| | | Thu 21 Jan 2010 - 6:09 # | well, none the less.. this news is certainly satisfying knowing that NetEase is moving in the right direction. | | |

But until I see someone from netease I'll continue to focus on classic/bc content and just enjoy myself there.

| | | Thu 11 Feb 2010 - 11:50 # | Here is some updated news:
In much of the world, current complaints about World of Warcraft center around the resolution of the storyline of the latest expansion and whether or not it's had a negative effect on MMOs as a whole. In China, current complaints about World of Warcraft are more focused on the fact that the game is still mired knee-deep in government infighting to try and make it playable again. After the last salvo, it seemed as if an end was close in sight... but as it turns out, NetEase has been forced to suspend any new player registrations for a week.
The studio is re-applying for a license to host World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, with no mention being made of Wrath of the Lich King, which doesn't bode very well for the hopes of that expansion ever seeing release in China. Having been stuck in the middle of two squabbling agencies for quite some time, and with no clear resolution in sight, it seems like a stretch to assume that the expansion will be released in China before the next one is due to arrive stateside. Our condolences to Chinese players affected by the latest round of bickering, and we can only hope that this long struggle will soon come to a conclusion.

Also Reuters reported similar new but dont have the link in hand. Lets hope and pray for WOTLK one day in China.
| | | Sat 20 Feb 2010 - 21:25 # | really need to kneel & bow to all those peeps playing in CN realm. CN realm are so far behind from the current version & expansions. CN realm players really missing a lot.... (Naxx,Ulduar,Crucade, etc)
By time the official announcement for WoTLK for CN (still a big ? here), prolly the 3rd generation mmo by blizzard will be announced or even more hot big titles are out.

No idea how reliable the source is but it seems like most of the WoW news this month is good news... I'll have my fingers crossed, maybe the game will see progress This month sucks for me workwise, i'm working 7 day weeks, long days, so no gaming for me :'( but I'll be back, and when I am, I hope I'll be zooming into Northrend!

There has really been nothing to do in CWOW for far too long now.
Just buy a proxy and play on US servers? I don't see all the excitement about taiwan? seems like settling for cheese on toast when you crave pizza.
I'm playing on US servers now, Elune, no problems, I ping at around 200-400ms and its running smooth. I don't even see how payment is an issue if you have a credit card or access to paypal/ebay.
Anyway beats running BT/HS/SW for the 1000th time

- If you wanna raid at raiding hours = TW - If you want to PVP arena you need good ping = TW - If you don't want to purchase WOW+TBC+WOTLK = TW
those are the main reasons i chose taiwan.

I have no interest at all playing on US servers, the huge time difference plus the fact I work would mean I'd never be on at peak times. And I'd be playing with Americans, and part of the reason I created a CWOW account in the first place was to meet Chinese & Expats and to help improve my Mandarin. I am looking forward to wotlk, but I am happy with BC, considering I've raided all of WotLK (except ICC) recently, the BC content is actually fresher to me, since its been years since I last went to BT/MH. I can understand people choosing Taiwan, but personally, I couldn't be happier than I am now ...as long as they don't shut it down xD

actually, anyways like Jbags I prefer Chinese realms.
