I'm sure this question has been asked a multitude of times, but here goes:

I played WoW back home for about three years starting during beta, but havn't played for the past few years while living in Shanghai. I'd really love to get back into the game, and would like to use the Chinese servers to do so.

However, I've seen that you need a Chinese ID to play here and I'm not really sure how to get a hold of one as a foreigner.

Just wondering if anyone here had any tips or experience in getting a hold of an ID number.

I used to take my landlord's or colleague's. Remember that this ID must be over 18.

go to www.baidu.com and copy"身份证" into the blank and search it,you'll get a lot of ID cards.choose one of them and keep it,if you don't know how to write chinese when making your account,tell me the website of the ID card and i will help you.

About the ID's found on google/baidu I don't recommand doing this unless you don't care having your account banned/locked/stolen one day or another, knowing that the ID is the ultimate account recovery information(netease will ask you for a good quality scan if something happen).

Do like Nous and get an ID from someone you know that doesn't have an ID shared among 20 goldfarmers and co.

Ive got a quick question...I got invited to a chinese guild but speak zilch in chinese. Ive been using some google.com/translate to communicate but my system doesnt allow some of the symbols....any tips?

1. Make sure that the local for non-unicode appli is set on Chinese, under your windows regional settings

2. Be sure to have the chinese font folder installed. (look at the forum guides)

3. when you copy/paste chinese from wow to window you have to make sure that your keyboard is on chinese input mode.

Will some of the characters show up as ? I can get some of them copied but some turn into ?

if you get ?? that means your missing chinese fonts. you should follow the installation guides located elsewhere about this site. especially the part about downloading the chinese fonts.

The game is fine...I am getting the ? in windows sadly.
