I'd just like to say a big thank you to those that do the hard work around here

When I first came to China, the guide on this site helped me getting my WoW up and running here, and now after the WotLK patch, there was a guide up here quick as you like that worked brilliantly (the .bat didn't work for me, but no worries, did the manual install and it was fine).

Sadden me the batch didn't work for you, it's really convenient to use.

Now I improved it a lot, better documented and more options, but if you wanna give it a shot you'll have to restore your client manually first.

The batch is a great idea, I have no idea why it didn't work for me. I do have several versions of WoW and not a simple file structure, perhaps the problem was not running it as administrator?

Following the manual install my game is working perfectly so I'm not in need of any help though I thought it might help for you to know that it didn't work for me.

If you want some help testing it, give me a shout I don't mind spending a little time trying things out

It needs enough rights to copy/rename files in the wow folder.

It's ok, manual way works fine too, when you know what you're doing. You can give it a shot when China move to 3.3.0, if you wanna save yourself 3min that is

Speaking of which, have they released any info about the patching in future? Are they planning on releasing 3.3?

Given that Cataclysm is mostly likely out in Q4 2010, it seems like Cataclysm could be released before ICC is even live on CN servers? Unless of course they delay Cata like they delayed WotLK. Ah well, if no one knows, no one knows, but if you have any info I'd appreciate knowing

It will probably be delayed - just from the point of getting maximum value out of the delayed WLK and to give everyone enough time to waste in getting the top raid gear etc which will then be nullified by Cataclysm.

I somehow doubt it will be delayed for anywhere near as long as WLK was, but am not excpecting it to get here until at least Q3 2011.

They (Netease) still have a lot of content to release (catch up on) to keep people interested without having to keep in-sync with the rest of the world.

It's kind of a shame we didn't get the pre-WotLK release event stuff though.

Batch worked for me, though I'm pissed at Blizzard for making it so fucking hard to patch/downgrade.
I love this guide, just wish I could find more ppl on my server.

I too would like to join the 'Thank You' club. I wouldn't have thought it possible to play english WoW on chinese servers and along comes this batch file that made it as easy as running an addon. Thanks to all those who helped make it possible. And bolomas, I'm still buying drinks if we should ever cross paths.
