WARLORDS OF DREANOR - RELEASE ON 13.11.2014 FOR THOSE HAVING CONNECTIVITY PROBLEMS CHECK HERE! |
|
| | Wed 2 Jun 2010 - 6:50 # | Hello guys. Maybe some of you noticed the forum adopted a brand new theme It has been tested before release, but you never know what can happen once it's live. So if you encounter any problems or bugs please come report here and tell us which web navigator you are using (firefox, explorer, chrome, safari, etc). The site use a lot of transparent png pictures that aren't supported by old navigators like explorer 6, so if you see some big white squares here and there this means you'd better update today Suggestions/remarks/critics are welcome | | |
| | | Wed 2 Jun 2010 - 11:58 # | YAY ! You finally did it bolo!!!!!!!!!!! Looks really really cool!!! Congratulations!

EDIT.bis: Maybe it's just me, but google chrome takes a little bit of time to load this site.May be me or maybe I should just delete some pron;)

It seems the width is too large. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Aside from that, it looks great.

the right to see the entire forum. It seems the width is too large. Is anyone else experiencing this? Fixed I made it on a 1280x800 resolution, the site will be ok on a 1024x600, but 800x600 will need some scrolling or zoom out. I couldn't test it on higher resolutions so if someone see something strange plz tell me.

Perhaps it was because I was also using a crappy work computer.
| | | Thu 3 Jun 2010 - 15:28 # | this is trivia, but since lots of foreigners have moved to WoW Taiwan, maybe you could slightly change the title?
Doesn't really matter, but I know it would save some time for the new guys:D
| | | Thu 3 Jun 2010 - 15:47 # | Isn't Taiwan part of China? As you can find the official links for wow CN and wow TW, I think it's still pretty obvious + the guides contains explanations for CN and TW. Dunno if Glob wanna try another title we can always change it. | | |

Dunno if Glob wanna try another title we can always change it. I mean the servers. But Oh never mind.

Dunno if Glob wanna try another title we can always change it. I would change that. But if we got a huge misunderstanding since many players moved to WoW TW, I wouldn't mind.
| | | Mon 7 Jun 2010 - 21:20 # | Bolo, Glob....
The new look is nice, and interesting. But a lot of Photoshop (new buttons and lala) and little code.
Otherwise I help bolo with .CSS if he needs to.
Also, on my 16:10 screen the background image is.. well, anchored on the left, and not large enough to get to the right border. Maybe some repeating pattern nice?
The font sizes are out of whack in posts, especially on top / bottom of each posts (for editing and blabla your post). I know there is an image. but if you go on lo-fi mode for faster mass opening tabs or beacuase you are on a mobile phone or lo bandwidth or a crappy 3G stick while travelling, you will get the fonts. I am running at 1920x1200 on my main screen, and they should be tiny. nonetheless, they are larger than a cigarette. I guess since the graphics are there, you didn't bother. happens. try to check it out. lol. i almost freaked.
also, please anchor the signatures to the bottom of the div (i suppose you work with DIV tags, not sure if you use tables maybe. also does the job). if you make one line posts, the sig is kinda like floating in the middle of the space. due to high vertical space of the avatar and user description on left side.
could you edit the color code in the CSS as well a bit for background colors in quotes? just a bit more contrast, since it is VERY close to background color, when you use an LCD looking straight from front.
also, ranks have these "W" circles, but only up to a point. if too high, you get the rankname twice.
possibly not 3 colors for fonts in the left user data tab. less wouldn't hurt.
main header, the rolldown on mouseover of wowcn and wowtw could go right? or simply in any other way. I know i could try to control my mouse better, but each time i wanna go to sign-out or pm, i kinda get the rollout if i come from top. if the user has to adapt, the ui can me modded for ease of use.
anywho,... i don't mean any of it in a mean way. but i would like the option for me to see it in an alternate way, unless fixed a bit. I can help a bit. will contact bolo in-game.
it is NOT to be meant as a troll or flame. i know people will get it this way easily, coming from me.

| | | Tue 8 Jun 2010 - 4:19 # | Think I can help with some of the stuff you said. Except the rank thingy, if you see the name twice it means the server hosting the picture wasn't available.
For the sig problem you mean it s floating horizontaly? I gonna check it, but funny caus on my computer sig is aligned on top no matter what.

--NaK Are you talking about the menu or the forum?
| | | Tue 8 Jun 2010 - 10:04 # | since you fixed most of the things (fast response), its fine now. background is bigger now, works ok. and no more carnival in rio (aka 500 colors for fonts). lol.
its less wearing on the eyes. good.
the sig is aligned on top of its section. wait, i am going to make a screen for next post
| | | Tue 8 Jun 2010 - 10:04 # | this is what i mean: | | |
| | | Tue 8 Jun 2010 - 10:14 # | you can trust me it has always been aligned on the top, even on the previous version. So it's more of a matter of taste then You can see other exemples like : mmo-champion have sig aligned on bottom no matter what, when the official warcraft forums have the sig aligned on top like here. | | |
| | | Tue 8 Jun 2010 - 18:48 # | never paid attention to it then... | | |
| | | Sat 25 Sep 2010 - 19:39 # | Eeek.. what happened? looks like all the style sheets and graphics have been stolen suddenly. I can barely read the page to leave my comment | | |
| | | Sun 26 Sep 2010 - 8:22 # | Yeah. Happened to me too.. Sent screenshots+message to bolomas to fix :\ | | |
| | | Sun 26 Sep 2010 - 16:33 # | Lol I leave shanghai 3days and look what happens...
Got a kind message of my website host telling me it was against their rules to offer an archive of download (I guess the Fonts.rar), and cut the access to the wow-in-chinese website.
So given that all pics and stylesheet were hosted there, that explain the mess.
They are fuckin dumb, they could have sent me a message asking me to delete the concerned file first but well.
Can't really restore the theme until I get back my access to the website. Should be back to normal during the week.
| | | Sun 26 Sep 2010 - 17:10 # | Can you maybe host those pics at photobucket or something? Or it still won't work? | | |
| | | Sun 26 Sep 2010 - 17:52 # | I was wondering why the forum was completely fucked up yesterday. | | |
| | | Mon 27 Sep 2010 - 9:55 # | THX Bolomas the icons and fonts are back to normal, Good Job. Was horrible to read the page the last few days | | |
| | | Mon 27 Sep 2010 - 10:19 # | Yeah sorry for the inconvenience. That had to happen when I was in a trip and didn't touch a computer for several days... Didn't knew I couldn't share archives on my domain with this host. Actually a lot of chinese websites are linking to our forum when it comes to play with the english client. So the traffic on wow-in-chinese.jfs-web.ch went from a few hundred MO per month to around 300 GO a month (over 9000 hits on TOwowCN.rar and Fonts.rar in September). I guess my host wouldn't have found anything given ppl only need to dl the fonts once, but recently I'm in contact with them caus I can't install wordpress on their servers. So they found that I was sharing archives when trying to solve my problem lol. Well now all is good and well. I'm glad they were fast to turn on the website again. Archives will be on filefront from now on | | |
| | | Mon 27 Sep 2010 - 14:52 # | This forum sure is growing in popularity then? eh? I tell you bolo, we need to become like wowhead call it laowaihead or something | | |
