Hey y'all. so i got an account set up and i'm on free trial, i figured why not, free play time, so i can't message people or talk in the english channel. I am trying maduolan out i guess but im wondering if cow eaters pvp at all. im big into pvp and im wondering if maybe another server might be better for me. Also, I'm wondering, do the different channels of servers correspond to regions of china? mylatency is at 300-400 in maduolan. By the way, my name will be either dinosawr or holymoley. feel free to message me! i'll be on all night starting at about 6! you will have to add me to friends, then i can talk to you.

you can get some info from the above link, where to play other than Maduolan.

I assume that your connection to any realm on CN1 will be the same, so if you choose Maduolan, Alliance, PVE, or Bronzebeard, Horde, PVP you should have the same lag.
If you are soo much into PVP then Bronzebeard will be a better choice for you, might be a bit difficult to create a toon there, since I heard that Bronzebeard has "locked" status. But you allways can give it a try.

Your connection might be better with other Regions, but then you might not find a foreign community there.

high latency can have several reasons, starting from your internet connection sucks in general etc.
Some beliefe that China Telecome is the best choice for gaming, don't know your provider and if you could change at all.
leatrix latency fix might work for you, just google and download it, if you wana give it a try, seems to work for many ppl.
For me it doesn't seem to make a difference to my connection, but my latency on CN1 is between 100 to 150ms 95% of the time, with or without the reg fix, so thats is ok for me.

If you think you can get a better connection here is a list of CN wow's servers:

Shanghai servers are CN1
Beijing is CN2
Guangzhou are CN4

so I have a WAY better connection on CH2 servers than ch1. (200+ on ch1 and like 20 on CH2) I was going to to try a server on ch4 but i don't have that option. I only have 1,2,3,5 and 10. why is that? It seems there are no guilds on Ch2 in the guild postings...

well, that's the way it is. It's Chinese World of Warcraft, so most of the players are Chinese. Not many options you can choose from, if you want to play with other foreigners.
You might want to find a solution to get a better connection to CN1, see my suggestions in the above post, other wise you'll end up playing with Chinese only, which isn't that bad if you can read and write Chinese

i tried the latency fix. it worked a little. but im still above the 200 mark. I will continue to use it though. I can speak chinese better than i can read and i can hardly write unfortunately. I guess I will just start a guild on warsong and hope to find some english speakers (or perhaps just find a guild hah). I wish i could could play with y'all cow eaters, but i do not have control of my internet provider.

if it's a stable 200-300ms you shouldn't worry much about. We have been playing just fine with more lag than this on the taiwanese servers .

really? i think in pvp it would hinder me quite a bit. i've been trying both channels and it makes such a huge difference to have 20 MS vs. 270ms.

I moved to China few months ago and will be staying here for two years. I also started WoW and these pages were very helpful . I'm playing on Kul Tiras (Beijing server) since a chinese friend of mine is playing there as well. However I haven't found any fellow foreigners from "/join english". Anyone is welcome to give me a whisper, I'm "Playball", HU Warrior =). Anyway, thanks for the great pages, keep it up!

If you guys start a guild or anything serious on beijing servers don't hesitate to write a post and ask for a sticky. Lately we didn't have any news from a foreign community around beijing so when someone need to play there caus of lag issues we don't know where to direct them.
Also I'd recommend you fill in your Character in WoW sheet, in the forum profile, so ppl see where you play when they read your posts

I've been actually struggling with my internet connection for the past few days. I should be back ingame around saturday afternoon. I have owned the game for few weeks and my /played is already around 2d, so I have been around a lot . But I'm working during daytime ofcourse, we have project lasting to the end of the year which basically causes 14 hour daily worktimes :<

Pala lock is a good combination, for rogues and warrior it gets difficult as we can only rely on burst and no heal capability.
