I updated, realized I needed a "fix" to keep playing in English on the TW server, and so I downloaded the "Launcher". That worked fine, but today I try to play and when logging in I get the "unable to validate game version" error. NFI what to do Help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't a fix to play in English on TW servers, as they follow the other regions' updating speed. Meaning you update your client, with the launcher, to 4.0.6 (?), change the realmlist, and voila! You're done.
I am a bloody retard. Thanks man. I forgot that after updating I need to re-edit the realms file. FFS... I am getting old. Thanks again.
Are you sure this is it? Because if it was just your realmlist which was wrong, you would have gotten a "Unable To Connect" message instead of "Unable to Validate Game Version".
I'm patched up to the correct version 3.3.5.13685 and i have a battlenet acc up and running with credit on but, i'm getting that message when i try and log in with my battlenet details (Unable to validate game version). Any ideas...i'm sure i have followed the guides word for word up to now...but it's likely i have missed something haha. Thanks in advance guys

Heya The version number is 3.3.5.13685 and it's saying that's current from 23rd Feb 2011. Guess i didn't open the batch as admin after each patch so that could be it? Do i need to un-install and try again or just downgrade a touch?
thanks in advance

Ahhh.... We get the following when i run the TOwowCN3.3.5.13685 batch file, it tells me the following :- "The batch file folder is in the wrong location. The folder TOwowCN3.x.x.xxxxx must be directly extracted into your wow folder"
but it's in c:/wow i'm sure there's something my mouse sized mind is missing...?

So at the moment my problem seems to be that i cant execute this latest batch file. I may have extracted it to the wrong location cos now in my program files for wow i have battle.net.dll changelog launcher patch-9.mpq patch-enCN-9.mpq readme realmlist and wow These are supposed to be somewhere else right? and when i do execute the batch file as admin its meant to give me options too? Thanks for answering the un-ending questions from confused ex pat wow'ers hehe

2. extract http://www.gamefront.com/files/20053363/TOwowCN3.3.5.13685.rar into your /wow folder.
3. execute TOwowCN3.3.5.13685.bat and follow the instructions. Make sure the file name match the current version of the Chinese servers.
And yeah once you execute the batch you ll have to follow instructions.
Just so i'm as clear as crystal....I download the rar file from gamefront and then extract it into /wow where it leaves me with the folder...i open this folder (containing the batch and other mpq's etc) and execute the .bat file as admin and it should then leave me following instructions with a big happy grin on my face?
