| | Sun 16 Jan 2011 - 6:27 # | there's rumor that ICC will be coming soon or to be exact on 18th if it happens this guide will be kinda useless I think, but if not then u get 1-2 weeks to gear up so you can do raid with your guildies in the future for ICC.
I see there are a bunch of new 80s or gonna hit 80 soon on my guild. I'm a lazy guy I don't like to "pl" or babysit people so this is my way of helping, its up to u if you want to sacrifice a little bit of your time and stand up by yourself or not.
first let's assume you hit 80 on tuesday, from quest, gathering, etc along the way I remember my char got around 6-7k each, don't buy the epic mount yet.
week 1 1. get your buddies/guildmates to take you to normal 5 TOC or just look for a group by yourself and get 3-4 piece ( let's say this take 4-5 hours but hey u only do this step once ) 2. each day do daily H and 5HTOC ( 1-2 hours per day, for me its 1 hour or less ) 3. get your ass in 25 gold raid pretending as a buyer and try to bid once in a while, be careful though not to bid carelessly. ( your aim in here is to get the emblems of triumph, but of course if you have money you can buy the stuff you need )
assuming you start this from tuesday or wednesday at this point you should be around 3800 GS ( if not get something or any shit to fake it ), if you're serious about your char, you buy the 245 wrist and chest that can be crafted ( the pattern is dropped in TOC ) the mats vary from 1.8-2.4k.
4. wait until sunday or monday there will be poor bastards who will be stuck with you for their 10-25 vault and onyxia ( why ? its simple at tuesday there's gonna be restart ID for raids and almost everyone on your server already went for it so there's gonna be desperate guy who want to take their alts for 10-25 onyx/vault)
- don't forget to do lake wintergrasp + daily pvp, and at weekend there's honor bonus if you like pvp i think you can gain 1-2 piece to boost your GS more.
after 1 week passed, you should have at least 35 emblem of triumph you can buy the 245 ring or the sigil or whatever you need or save then join the 2nd week of 25 toc then afterwards u have 50 emblem and buy a 245 trinket but imo its better to get a trophy of crusade and get 1 piece of T9.
week 2 repeat 2,3,4 & 5 and at sunday or monday you should be able to join 10 TOC.
after 2 week passed i think you get 4500-4800 ish GS depend on your luck and resource, or even more.
| | | Sun 16 Jan 2011 - 6:54 # | In patch 3.3.5 gear will be even easier to get. If you abuse the new dungeon system you will be GS4500 in a weekend. And rejoice old members! You'll never again have to powerlevel ppl or form groups for the newcomers... ever! | | |

I think 3.3.5 will be out in the next 10 days, if not even next tuesday. And then its realy easy for ppl to get geared for ICC 10/25 mans. Just run as many heroics as you can and as often as you can. This way you can reach GS5000 which will be enough for ICC raids, without spending a single copper on gold raids. If you are hardcore you can make it within a week
| | | Sun 16 Jan 2011 - 12:30 # | @bolo & lok yea i heard its gonna be released soon, i saw some people talking about it in the trade channel saying its gonna be out at 18th or next month can't wait for it to happen | | |

Anyway- getting a gs won't really help you get into a raid unless you know someone already in the group or you're in their guild, at least not until the whole guild/ regular raiding group is already geared.
As most of us are foreigners with limited Chinese, even if you got picked up as a pug then you probably wouldn't understand what they wanted you to do. (I tried it once and they kicked me because I kept telling them "wo can bu dong". But the 5 man's are really easy because no one really talks anyway (this is after ICC opened of course)
Doing the daily ICC 5 man awards 2 Frost badges so you'll still be able to get the low T10 gear (after weeks and weeks of pugs) and there are new tailoring recipes that drop from ICC raids (I'm not sure about non-cloth recipes) so you can still get your GS even higher/ faster if you've got the money. (on the Aessina realm Deathfrost Boots are going for 14,000+ and Leggings of Woven Death are going for about 25,000+/ the Royal Moonshroud Robe is a steal at only 2,000) and of course there are the rare BOE drops from ICC as well.

At this point, I've gotten the best available vendor gear and a few BoE's from the AH. The next step would be ICC (which I'm quite curious about), but as a newb (someone who's never done ICC10 or 25 before), I would screw my group over -- especially since my main spec is tank. A possible "solution" for both my GF (who's a discipline priest) and I is to start collecting DPS gear and go in as DPS after familiarizing ourselves with guides on ICC.
Or perhaps that isn't feasible, and I should just befriend some non-existing dude to carry me through. Sigh...the plights of being a foreigner. I really need to up my Mandarin.
