Long story short: I'm getting tired of the bad manners of Chinese players (especially after some recent incidents, but also in general), and have heard that Taiwanese players are a lot more friendlier/mannered, with better server atmosphere. Is there any truth to that? If so, I'll seriously consider trying out TW WoW.

Some of the Taiwanese players might be friendlier mostly because they can understand english. Otherwise, it depends on servers imo. What kind of bad manners are you talking about in general?
From my personal experience, the only way to annoy some would be ninja gear, not pay them the gold after a G-raid, lack of organisation, etc. Stuff that would annoy every gamer out there. In the end it's your point of view.

Well, Taiwan definitely has a different culture than China. Having been in both countries, the Taiwanese seem quite a bit more selfless and considerate. Basically I'm wondering if this pervades in their WoW servers.

Edit: I communicate in Mandarin in China WoW (and pass off as a native).

I have to agree on the Ninja part now with the pug teams. I've had people roll need on ANYTHING THEY COULD with a gs of close to 6000 while those of us who are still in marginal gear are left to roll against them- (and lose). I've personally lost out 6 times on the offhand that I really need to casters who already have it or a better item. Not to mention better healing/DPS trinkets. Knowing that they're just going to sell it off really pisses me off too. Since I don't raid surviving on ONLY items bought with the older badges really hurts both my healing and my dps as a priest.

QFT.

This is going to be fixed in the 4.1 patch in Cataclysm; if you are using the need before greed system, any BoE item that is rolled 'need' on, immediately become soulbound. Can't sell them on the AH anymore!

Unfortunately for us... we're still damn far from that change Sad

Pretty sure you will find annoying bad mannered people on every wow realms all around the world. Try to find a more mature people to play with maybe, since it seems it's what you are looking for.

If you move on Taiwan just for people behaviors you'll be disappointed.
