Ok, I have spent a week trying to get this working. And now I am finally close.

For Bolomas and or StITCH I got the batch file and executed it so now my Wow is some in Chinese. (i guess that means it worked)

Now all i need is a working way to get the fonts file.


(would you guys recommend waiting til after Cataclysm to install a Quest Helper add-on) I figure it will change a lot

Miantiao did you log into the game on a character? Maybe test it to make sure everything works fine ^^.

I'll try to find another website so you can dl the fonts.

Oh god not again.

Tried to log in an got an error message.

There is a problem with logging with this account ,you may not have a WOW game attached to this account or logging into a region different than the one you created an account in.

(Since it talks solely about my account I went to Battlenet.com and they seem to want some number from me. (not a recharge number)

Could this be the autenticifcation number (US software CD always had a number.......I do not have access to such a number here.)

Ok take a deep breath. Regarding the account creation on battlenet what have you done so far? You have to create one here https://www.battlenet.com.cn/account/management/?lnk=1

Also you absolutely need a Chinese friend to lend you his ID card number, and when you create the account you have to use his name, otherwise your account won't be validated.

If you already did all these things, another question would be : you have to login in the game by using the battlenet email login.

I used my girlfriends ID. ANd charged the account.

WHen I look at my profile there is a prompt for me to enter the number (represented by the Chinese I copied)

It is only 1 box.

Go check your email box, maybe they sent you a mail with a verification number or confirmation link . Hopefully that s it,

Also like I said you have to use the name on the Id when you create your account. If you used your own then you'll have to recreate a new account or resubmit the Id via a form on the chinese battlenet customer service. Maybe if you can't get past the verification problem ask your girlfriend to give you a hand with this.

From what my girlfriend says. I need to link the battlenet account with my WOw. The WOw should have some number that I can link to the battlenet account.


Did anyone else have to enter any number besides a Chinese ID information and the info on a recharge card.

a ok you didn t add a wow account to your battle.net account.

So 1. log in

2. click +《魔兽世界》试玩 at the right of the webpage, confirm stuff etc. If you can t understand smth use google translate and copy past the text.

As it says you have to add a wow client to battlenet all of us had clients already before bnet was released. Back in the days we had to go to the Warcraft page and use a game card to exchange it for a cd key!
Propably you have to do the same thing to get a cd key which let's u add wow into bnet.

I have nor done it since years I hope ur gf can help you.

I hope when it runs out I can just charge it like normal.


The only issue now is I can't read the Chinese in the game( it is all ????) thus chosing the realm is.....impossible.

but the realam names are still just question marks (?)

You have to set your windows to support asien language file type! Then it works!

I think I have had them like that for years. I type Chinese constantly. Checked my control panel and it supports Chinese language.

How should I set it the way you are speaking of?

It's not the input language which is important. On my phone now so I cannot give you the detailed steps.
In your system control panel you should see regional and language option not sure which win u use but it's always called the same. If u click that u have some menu like install files for asien and Thai support which should be activated. In addition there is one option which states like chose the language for non Unicode programs and software that should be set to Chinese.
If that's done it will show chinese charachters. If your settings are already as above u have the fonts file in the wrong folder!

Fonts should be c:world of Warcraft\fonts

Inside the fonts folder u should see like Morpheus, fritz or whatever they were called files.

well its not madoulan your wanting to go on if you want to play with the foreigners =P but madoulan is pvp, tyhe server were all on is pvp

Maduolan is a pve server alliance with cow eaters.
Even I am with Cow eaters almost from the start I will also transfer to alterac valley there are far more foreigners so I suggest you create a toon there. Sooner or later most CE member will also transfer.

Alterac Valley is PVP right? (everyone will have to pick a side Horde/Alliance)

I lean Horde about 75%/25% (maybe have a alt on some other place)

haha -- don't mind me - i'm transfering an chr to AV soon also and playing some alts it does seem like a nice realm.

xD It's because they put too much advertisement on TV.


Btw for those still hesitating to come : new ppl have been transferring, pledging they would every, single, days since we started.

We are hoping for more active ppl soon to complete a second 10man raid group, and a 25 mans group never has been so close of our reach for years, even if it's hard to say if we will have enough active ppl motivated to run 25man raids.

But anyway, no worries if we can't accommodate everyone into raids we will do rotations and find the best ways to keep track of who wanna raid, who raided etc.
It's gonna be as fair as it can be and you won't be at the service of a group of individuals filling the gap with whoever is needed for them to get their fun.

We also started to guild some Chinese players (from our realm and forum readers) willing to improve their english with us, so it really looks great so far.
