enCNLaunch for 4.2

Just the same as 4.1 one, but a little different, and here are a few tips.

1. I am not sure why locales are dupelicated in enUS client. To see if your locale is dupelicated, open Logs\connection.log after a normal login. If you see some line like this

Code:: 9/21 19:08:00.029 Component WoW.enUS.14545

twice,then your locale is dupelicated

If you locale is NOT dupelicated open enCN.ini and change

Code:

data=enUS.dat
data_size=84

into

Code:

data=enUS_72.dat
data_size=72

2. enCNLaunch will fit for your locale automatically, so no other locale files is needed, just enUS.dat.

Thx, is it me or the old enCNlauncher didn't work? I captured from the chinese client, but then the english client would hang on connection and server would boot me after 10-20sec.

Edit : I don't know why but I get the wrong version error.

Is this login process right?

It seems that your enUS locale is dupelicated and is considered as two locales. Old enCNLaunch works if you capture with two-locale Chinese client and have data_size set to 84.

Launcher works but I keep getting disconnected. Btw those of you who have downloaded the wow.exe file before all the way to 4.2 and downgraded to 4.1, I believe you can just delete the 4.1 version and replace it with the backup file (remember we made .bak files??) Checks out for me. I just cant seem to get in. Could be because the servers are down...not sure

This new enCNlauncher, is it supposed to work as it is, or do I have to capture on the chinese client first? I'm still having the wrong version message, really don't see why.

Ok. So I left the enCN.ini as is and logged in and it says unable to validate version.

After changing enCN.ini to 72, I get a long 'connecting' then it disconnects.

Am i doing sth wrong =X

above steps worked. changing data to 72 did the trick. just munching on my Oreo Cookies and anxiously checking for server status every 5 min. God, what have I become; I hate this game!

Server won't be back on until around 1PM. Maintenance started at 3AM and is for 10 hours so unless my math really sucks..... =D

Hi Guys,

I tried following your instructions.

1 I downloaded the zip file.

2 Copied the contents into my wow folder.

3 Changed the text file.

But it doesnt seem to work. It either just doesnt connect or says unable to validate game version. What did i do wrong?

PS I am using an English EU client.

Sometimes it lets me log into the surver, but it doesnt load up any of my charricters to choose, it just says connected for ages then dies???

OK I re-installed the latest Chinese WOW executable and it seems to be working.

If you are using the enGB client check into the the client folders particularly "cache" "data" for other locals than enGB. If you see them delete them.

Otherwise I don't know.

What i would do is to reset the original wow.exe and start a repair. Then reapply the fix by following the latest guide. That should do the trick.

As of 6pm China time, are the servers back up? I still cannot log in. Says "success" then goes into long connecting pause, then disconnects.

Sk if you are using the enCNlauncher AK uploaded early this morning try downloading it again, the first upload didn't work, had the same problem than you. Now servers are online, lot of ppl on already.

The whole thing about the streaming client is its ability to download game data while you're playing. It's displayed under your ping and FPS. It's highly recommended to use the streaming client because data is download much faster. If you don't want a streaming client, you'd have to download every patch one by one.
