Ok, so people tell me all the time that a lock will down a Druid everytime. Im here to argue against that.

These are my tactics, call them cowardly if you like. But I have been killing locks, left, right and centre recently. I am a very unusual spec which is 3/4 in Balance and 1/4 in Feral...basically I have Doomkin and I have Feral Charge.

This is the secret:
1. Stealth in kitty form and follow a druid. Make sure he has no team mates
2. Unlike conventional wisdom, do NOT open in kitty (we dont have enough stuns)...instead, turn caster about 30 yards behind him, just outside his fear range.
3. whack on NG and charge up your Starfire, follow it with a Moonfire.
4. Now here is the hard part: RUN (cheetah)
5. He will try and run after you but will not be able to cast fear. He will either give you a shadow bolt or a curse.
6. Run until you can restealth and repeat process
7. You should knock off 1/4 to 1/3 of his life each time if you are balance spec.
8. When he is down to 1/3 of his life or less, bear form and charge!
9. Now it is Moonspam time.
10. If he ever manages to get a fear in, switch to Bear if you have Feral charge ready...but normally just RUN.

He should now be dead and the all mighty Lock has been defeated by the previously pawned Druid. Heal, decurse and find yourself another Lock to kill.

No matter what spec they are, they shouldnt be able to do anything to you. Affliction spec has an extra fear but it wont be in range.

This guide is assuming that you have the enhanced range for your moonfire and starfire. You dont need to be Balance spec (Feral will take longer) but you do need those talents.

Have fun hunting Locks.

P.S. It works with other classes as well. Try it out on a warrior or rogue...easy kills. Just use NG when you can. With hunters, sleep their pet first then root, Bear and charge...safe zone and nuke.

You beat these warlocks while they have succubus or felhunters out? Starfire is a 4sec. cast, how you able to cast with his felhunter out?

If succubus is out, by the time you got a starfire off you'll be seduce.

balance druids can kite but so can a warlock, they can instant cast corruption and syphon life which dispel curse can't dispel, then they run outta range of starfire. all the while their pet is pestering you with whatever skill or damage they got.

I guess those warlocks you beat just didn't know what they were doing.

I also can confirm that it's impossible for the above tatic to work for a feral druid, why? mana.

Feral druids gear towards agi and str, most of our gears we stole from rogues. we barely get any extra mana above base mana which the above strategy requires.

I know, you'll say, so? it's a gear thing. Well if ferals are to get gear enough for the mana requirement of the above strategy it's better we just get shadow resistant gear which would work on any spec. and would rip warlocks apart.

But no worries, as soon as TBC is here, things would be a little more balance for druids against warlocks.

we get more stuns and we do more damage, PLUS we get cyclone we just gotta wait for the rest of the world to be fedup with the game before we can get it. lol

Dude. Not everyone is a hardcore player. I'm guessing that you may be, but even so, different tactics can completely take a so-so player off guard and easily beat them.

I took down a level 44 hunter today (with my 37 hunter) only because they were too confident that I wouldn't attack. Well....I did....and got a good laugh as they only took me to 50% hps before they went down. Sometimes people play their class and only use a small portion of the skills available, especially in PvE.
