Definition
Casual WoWer: mostly enjoy pve but never raided or don't raid much; don't use addons much; don't have cooking and fishing pass 100; wear mostly blue and sometimes green stuff; randomly clicked talents; never visit website pertaining to wow for info.

Pro WoWer: opposite of casual wower; wear mostly purple; enjoys pvp and almost always wins; Know most of the formula that blizzard used to calculate stuff in the game.

My first shaman up to 60 as a full noob, mostly wearing green (my hat was a leather one). I didnt know nothing about wow.

I made a break for some months..

My mage up to 60 in a raid guild, we used to go to MC/BWL on a regular basis. Eager to get champion dps,I got interrested about the mechanics of the game I learned about the +damage and the spirit regen

I started a paladin as soon as my mage dinged 60, and went up to 50. I learn about armour and magical armour formulas.

That was 1 year ago, my paladin ding 50 and I was bored of the game again.

My current paladin and lifestyle makes me a little more involve in how to build a better tank/healer; I learned about defense and defense rating system.


I dont define myself as a casual player, regarding to my involvement, Im not a hardcore wower either; Ive been hardcore on an FPS based on Q3 engine and called Enemy Territory (an FPS with some "roleplay"), its definitively different.



As we say here, man man xue when I will perfectly master the game, maybe blizzard will release a T15 pally set with +stats +heal +manaregen +defense +resist

lets play Q3.... booya... so long time no Q3RA d00ls for me... :sniff:
on the other hand, i am not casual... dont know where i am... with any game. but for me it's not time dependant. i have somethign with games. i "get" them very easy, then skill raises. have many friends like that.

as for items... thanx to gold raids, the casual gamer logging on 2 times a week can be full T1+T2 as well.... log on, sell 10 cards, go 2 gold raids and buy all. just be lucky on drops.

Your description drops the casual to a total noob. The casual is who plays 2-3hours max a day, can go raid, can do everything. BUT for him/her playing wow is just a hobby, doesn't rushes home to play it; can stop today or tomorrow.

Casual as in not hardcored player. However, the definition for casuals, might be different upon each person's point of view.

dude it does happen trust me, I saw what fei was doing when he level up. I think there's a fine line between noob and casual.

Sure that isnt casual; casual players is someone for who wow isnt the main hobby.

Noob is a completely different guy who wont play with talents, nor buy all his spells, neither go for dungeons. The lvling is all about wow for them and usually grab stuff exclusively from the AH.

Some casual players do know their class quite well.

Some noobs are completly intoxicated by the game and play everyday for a couple of hours.

Making classification is really hard.

I think on of the good way to classify would be:

- raider: raid whore that usually masturbates on forums and always try to get a first server down...
- pvper: PVP whore that also masturbates on forums and tries to be feared on his server.
- mixed: absolute no lifer who tries to do both of the above
- casual: people that play from time to time and just enjoy the game.

I think the real difference is in the goals:
The hardcore gamer wants to be the best, he needs to be recognized as a leet person in the server... He wants to be the best in the area he focuses in.
The casual also likes the game and he also has good skills, but he doesn't have the competition spirit and just take the game less seriously.

I don't intend to say any of the 2 types is good or bad. I was a nasty raid whore for more than a year and i greatly enjoyed the game. Now i play on several private servers with many lowbies and i'm a total casual

I like FK LM, and lvl up fast, i hate play with noobs (i prefer be the noob at now more), and i like play fast i mean (grind fastly).
I hate players who need to mind 2h before hit (not in raid of course), i hate players who directly goes to be killed without mind... In the juste middle is ok!
So for the moment i lvl up BH and when i play i need :

but you level fast... get to 60, and we get you some basic raid gear, i can arrange for it, and it'll make 5manning with us friends in TBC easier... wayyyy easier.

I'm in between too.
I think the fact that I am having such HUGE pings (3000 most of the time) is responsible of that...But my skills are almost up until 300 (255 in herborism, alchemy, and 300 in medecine (don't remember the real name, lol))

But I think when I will be 60 I will like raid and PvP (If I manage to have a better ping of course!!!)
