| | | Thu 4 Jul 2013 - 7:57 # | Statistic & Priority Because of the fucked up change in 5.3 to PvP Resilience and PvP Power. It is safe to say that resilience is worthless, and PvP Power is valuable until some point, you do need PvP Power but in most cases, 10k is enough (minimum amount of DPS imo, 400 PvP power = 1 % damage, 25 % damage on PvP). There are other variables for your spec, therefore in some slot PvE Gear is better, for example the PvP trinket for caster give you lousy 1300 Pvp Power and 2-3k Spell Power (not INT). It is obvious that PvE trinket which have int proc is much better. On Healers, the spirit trinket from inscription or the horridon trinket is a popular choice for hume healers, due to their extra trinket slot. If you are confident on your survival capability as healer you can put spirit trinket too, but I'll suggest you to get some Hp+ or other defensive trinket since the burst damage now is pretty high. On this picture above I can give you a clear description of how a PvE gear can be better for PvP. In here I got 502 lfr pants and 496 tyrannical pants, of course when you got into arena, bg, rbg the item is automatically adjusted to 496 ilvl. On the picture you can see : 1. Armor - equal => 1996 armor 2. Stamina - equal => 1835 stam 3. Intellect - PvP pants got 1063, PvE pants got 983. So the PvP Pants have 80 intellect advantage HOWEVER, the PvE pants give you 3 red socket (ilvl and stat are adjusted for pvp area, but the socket isn't) and +180 int bonus while the PvP pants give you 1 red socket 1 blue socket, 120 pvp power. 4. Socket and bonus summed up, PvP Pants : 700 PvP Power, 160 int, 80 int from the blue socket ( assuming you gem purple int gem + pvp power) => 700 pvp power + 240 int PvE Pants : 160 intx3 + 180 int. 660 int So it comes to (700 pvp power + 240 int) vs (660 int) on the above I already mentioned about the usefulness of PvP power, they are useful to some extent so in here the 660 int is better. Not to mention the secondary stats (on destruction warlock perspective, the useful stat are : Hit, Mastery, Crit ) the PvP pants give you haste and mastery, while the pve pants give you hit and crit. So it is quite obvious that the PvE pants is better. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please keep in mind that this is a comparison between 496 PvE and 496 PvP, even when you disagree with my opinion on PvP Power, you can't deny that even when you believe the PvP Power is better the difference is really slim. So obviously 496 PvE Gear is way better than 476 PvP Gear. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In short, all you need to do is to get a substantial amount of PvP Power and bonuses, like the weapon and pvp gloves, and 4 set pvp item bonus. Then you can use other gear depend on your preferences, as for which gear is BiS for your class/spec I don't know other classes so don't ask me, google or look up in forums. Just use your logic and jugement because for some reason there are a lot of shitty useless guide on the internet.

| | | Thu 4 Jul 2013 - 7:57 # | Basic Stuff #1. Map & Position In Bgs like Arathi, Gilneas, and Eye Of the storm there are several spots to cap or defend, therefore you must be mobile. If there are no pressure on your spot or only 1-2 enemies left and they are going to die, some ppl should start to move to their position according to the leader's request instead of trying to get the fucking killing blow and DPS. On the picture above, with my epic paint skill I think it is easy to understand, black dot is the position someone should be on and the blue arrow is the direction they can move to when the leader requested. On AB it depends on your approach whether it is offensive or defensive but there should be at least 1 ppl on each claimed spot and 1 ppl on the middle, between those 2 spot. For example on this picture (it is a random bg therefore the positioning of the ppl is fucked up, please don't mind it) the horde hold 3 places, they should assign 2-3 ppl on each spot and put at least 2 people on the middle between Lumber Mill and farm so they can quickly move to the spot that requires help from enemy attack. If the team have mage/priest on lumber mill usually they put like 3-4 ppl, so whenever blacksmith need help they can use the flying buff to jump to blacksmith and save time. ---------------------------------------------------------- On the second picture below, its for Gilneas its pretty much the same : The team that hold 2 spot must place at least 1 people in between so they can move. In Eye Of the storm, you also need to have 1 ppl on the middle so he can move the any towers or go to the middle in case they need help but i'm too lazy to screenshot eots. #2. Items There are items on the bg that is very helpful and you should abuse those items whenever you got the chance, on this picture below is the recovery item - Leaf (Regen Hp&Mp) The leaf on the blacksmith is easy to reach for healers, especially shaman druid and monks. Not only that it is a good spot to kite when there are melee coming for you. Here is how you should put a gate and teleport for warlock on lumber mill so your team can utilize the gate to kite and get the items, and the teleport is at the perfect distance when you're getting knockback or when a rog open a smoke bomb. #3. Defending flag The only people who should be assigned to defend flag are classes with pets, because a good mage/rog/hunter will outplay and cc or kill you then cap your flag before reinforcement arrive. When you're guarding a spot you need to put some distance away from the flag, like in the picture below.

| | | Thu 4 Jul 2013 - 7:58 # | Understanding your class and their utility I don't like arena and duels for me its stupidly boring, but its just my opinion. However in rbg, you can use the geographical and situational advantage. Before the game start you can change your talent and your glyph, and for some classes you should adjust them according to the situation. I'll try to give you an example for Destruction Warlock and making it as easy as possible to understand even though maybe you're not familiar with the class : The lvl 15 talent is absolute : its a regenerative ability The lvl 30 talent is an option between : 1. Aoe Fear, 2. Instant 2 sec horrify and minor self heal, 3. Instant AoE Stun. All of those 3 are viable depending on your playstyle however in most situation the AoE stun will be more useful to support your team. You can combined the DK-Grip + AoE Stun, AoE Stun + Mage-Ring Of Frost, AoE Stun - Typhoon, etc. The lvl 45 talent : on Kotmogu where warlock are usually the main orb carrier and hence will be targeted, it is obvious that Dark Bargain is the best talent because it nullify all incoming damage for 8 seconds. The lvl 60 talent : Unbound will is a second trinket and is a must in AB, Gilneas, and EoTS where sometimes you must defend flags Blood Horror is a viable talent for kotmogu or any situation when you're targetted, because it give 4 seconds horrify to anyone who attack you while the buff is up, for example rogue. The lvl 90 talent : Between Mannoroth Fury (Big ass AoE range) and Kil'jaeden Cunning (moving while casting). While Mannoroth Fury will make it easier for you to use aoe and to build ember, most likely it will screw your team's cc like mage's poly, hunter's trap etc due to the big ass AoE, so unless the leader request a full AoE DPS you better choose Kil'jaeden Cunning. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I skip the explanation for lvl 75 talent because I believe it will give you a clear description of how some ability and talent can be priceless. As you may have known there are 2 most commonly used Warlock's level 75 talent. 1 Is Sacrificing your pet to get damage buff and Hp regen (it will also give you 20% hp increase if you get the soul link, lvl 45 talent). While the sacrifice thingy is useful for increasing your dps as a whole and making your e-penis looked bigger but in some places like AB and EoTS the supremacy is much better to their utility. As you can see on the picture above I knockback the warrior on the lumber mill with the Succubus's knockback skill. Its not hard to do all I did is dragging the warrior to the cliff then use knockback on him, but because he is a warrior and can charge back I jump down after I knockback him and then teleport to my circle. Not only because it can use knockback but succubus can charm enemy#1 while I'm fearing enemy#2 so I can buy more time until my teammates arrived. This is why sometimes you must trade off your damage/ability/survivability for other more important utility. Almost every classes have these kind of skill, for example Priest's Dominate Mind, Hunter's Powershot and trap (also pet Rhino), Druid's typhoon, etc.

| | | Thu 4 Jul 2013 - 7:58 # | Understanding your role Rbg just like other team games, have several roles to fill. For example in football you need goalkeeper, back, midfielder, forward, etc. After trying healer, flag carrier, and other spec I choose warlock because most ppl don't understand shit about teamplay therefore I can find any group in YY as long as I kill people. I'm not trying to brag with this screenshot, I'm just trying to point out this is what destruction warlock do, they deliver the finishing blow with shadowburn. On the first picture you can see there is a DK doing 50% more damage than I did, but he got 0 killing blow, because I focused his target and shadowburn them when it reach 20% hp. Warlock and DK tends to top the damage chart on bgs because they have the most spammable and efficient AoE. In AB, EoTS, Gilneas warlock and DK are the one who should pay attention to the flag and spam AoE to prevent them from capping, but of course the other must also pay attention and helped when the lock and dk's aren't available or cc-ed. All I'm saying is, all those killing blows are meaningless it happens only because my team got great damage and focus so I can deliver the finishing blow (kill steal if you will). You shouldn't pay too much attention to the dps chart and spam a lot of unnecessary skill to make your e-penis look bigger.Sometimes when you're assigned to defend places and there's no incoming enemy you will deal close to 0 damage the entire game, but the most important thing is you keep it safe. Just do your damn job, if you're doing it right the enemy team will die then your team will win and that's where it count. However, there are a certain amount of DPS that you must deal and sometimes this is hard to spot, but one thing for sure if no one in the enemy team is dying then obviously there is something wrong with your team's DPS. To put it simply, everyone die so fast something wrong with the healer, no one dies then there's something wrong with the DPS.

It takes me about 10-15min which is faster than your average BG. Just remember for the Arcane Destroyer to fight him in the water behind him. This way those little spawns of him will fall down and don't do damage, which makes it an easy tank 'n spank. note: Don't fight him to far in the water or else he will reset.just my 2 cents. Thx for the karassang npc info wasn't aware of that! | | |
