阴影 ... is not acepted... it only mean yin ying (shadow), i tryed a lot of others, it's same... How to make a RP name is that conditions ? Choose Village people maybe youll have a chance... We are from the Horde, and impossible to choose a darck name in chinese sign.... WTF ?
With my french version of the game, i don't have this problem, the filter is off since a long time haha. The cinese filter is paranoise, that's why. The game perform a character check (to avoid h4xXx0R kiddies from using ASCii characters and shit to emulate names like "pen1s", for example) on the CLIENT side. The client side is strictly localized. so, the US / EU versions of the game recognize chinese characters as ASCii, as it is unicode that is sent over the line. therefore the game will say: "nay, invalid characters, chose other name", if you try 阴影战士 (shadowwarrior) for a name. if you use the CHINESE client, on the other hand..... oh wonder, it works. Shadowwarrior won't wrok, as it is either a reserved namr or already taken somehow by something. but has nothing to do with filters. many character's names are shadow whatever (just look in my guild.... :p). so it might be a reason, but "shadow" is by far not blocked. i could create a guildcharter with the name "shadow" (阴影) right now with chinese client. no need to whine. as far as filter goes, its a pain that the option is removed, but so are many others. | | |
