Hi everybody I am also new to this forum, I am french and I play in wowchina and I am also a friend of Patrick (classsmates) unfortunatly he cannot explain to met how to play wowchina with us client because I am a MAC user. I already have the us game so if somebody could save my life and tell me how to do it with mac I would be more than greatful.

but the problem is that your wow version is a mac version, so, the solution that we are using now to play will not work for you...unfortunately I don't know how to play now with a mac user version...
because now the french servers and chinese servers are on diferent versions..

I think the solution for you would be to play with the chinese client...with the glossary it would be easier
try that until someone comes up with something for the mac users (any others mac users on the forum?? with a solution to play?)...

Is there anybody who find a solution to play 1.12.3 with the US client on a mac?

If there is no solution for MAC could someone tell me where I could download the chinese game(version MAC)

I remember when I was in China and my laptop was broken I had to use my Mini Mac and to install the game on it I just had to take the same CDs or ISO as the ones used on a computer !

So, if you're in China and you have a MAC you can buy the Box in stores(only 49 kuai...) and install it and I think you will be able to play in chinese,

But I remember when I tried that the chinese SERVERS were not compatible with MAC clients, but it was a long time ago, so Dylan if you can, try and tell us if it's working that way...

Bad news and good news ,

Firstly it is impossible to play chinese server on mac's but the good news is that you can install windows on mac if you have a resent mac to have more information about installing windows go on www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/

I'am a new mac user (french)

i am currently in france so have not try to play on chinese server yet. but anyway, i wanted to had something on what Dylan was saying. Yes it is Technicaly possible to play on your mac through windows. although it sucks !! hahaha let me xplain my self! (btw sry for my poor english french all the way lol)
when you start windows on ur mac, your RAM memory will split, so windows will alow normal program to be use, but games like WoW need a lot of RAM memory to be properly played and thats why it will not work!

i for myself need a few precision as i didnt understand everything u said...so 2 questions :
1) is possible to play on a mac wow in french on the chinese server (just by changing the realmlist like on windows)?
2) if it is not, is it still possible to use a chinese wow (the one dymé talked about, just 49kuai, wich now is only 10 kuai hihihi)

thanks for your explanations...It's just what I thought, if you use windows on mac to play, it's an emulation or something like that so your ram will split and windows already need a lot of memory so with wow...if you don't have 3GB of memory and the last processor it will be difficult to have a good play experience...

But now you can install Windows on mac I think. Because now there are intel Mac, no??? So maybe you can install wow on the windows you have directly on mac (without emulation)
and if you have mac os x the wow client is intallable on mac if I remember correclty, but I don't know if the chinese servers are compatible with the mac os client...in europe it has been done very recently but in China... dunno :s

I finally play wow on mac I HAVE JUST INSTALLED WINDOWS there are no problem and also you will be able to play on mac when TBC comes out because they have signed with APPLE.

blizzard releases all their games on PC and MAC. since always. usually (except rare exceptions) on the same CD / DVD even both versions.
They didn't need to sign anything with APPLE.
On the other hand, the whole problem on this thread was not blizzard, but a version difference in the server (china vs US), which called for a custom made patch, which was targeted at PC users (.exe) file, and thus it could not be played on a MAC.
TBC will be playable on a MAC, unless.... there will at some point be a patch version difference again and either noone can play with US client or someone releases a PC only patch again.

I'd keep my windows boot if i were you. just in case.

Is the status quo that I won't be able to use the Mac client to play CN WoW?

The game will run fine in Windows, even faster than OS X, but I want to access all my OS X apps etc and run WoW in windowed mode, so I'd much prefer to use the Mac client.

I'm downloading the US non-TBC client right now from worldofwarcraft.com

I haven't tried any fix, but the Mac 2.1.3 patch is different than the 2.1.3 patch for PC (It has a different number, it' something like 6984 instead of 6904, can't find a 6904 Mac patch).

I guess waiting for TBC patch is the best option for Mac users.

now that TBC is out, is it working for all you mac users?
i have WOW china on an external hardrive but when i plug it into my mac, i cant click on WOW exe or the launcher.

Well i got a mac and i just use bootcamp, havent yet tried running it on mac os so im gonna try it right now

Update: My slow internet speed is making me wait for the u.s. patch oh well hope it will work

I have a mac but i play wow on windows.
I've installed windows on my macbook, with bootcamp it's very easy. You'll have the mac driver for windows (bootcamp will burn for you), after all is finished you can install wow and enjoy!

no no, i have wow china working in windows, just wondering if it will work in mac, cause some people on web say it will run faster or slower in mac

damn, i got the exact same version and build as wowchina.com and the realmlist and config have been changed to log on to my server but it won't work, i think it is because the wowchina server doesnt accept the mac client, because when logging in it is able to recognize my account and ask for a pin but after i eneter everything in it says invalid game version, oh well back to bootcamp then. oh yeah and my game version is 2.2.0 (7272) (Release Assertions Enabled, GCC Intel) if anyone was wondering
