Hi everyone. Through out this website i see people who are experienced players starting again fresh in chinese servers. I have recently joined Cow eaters in shanghai server 1 - Maduolan.

Its a nice guild dont get me wrong im not trying to pick any fights, but after logging in a few times i realised that as all the other guilds mentioned on this forum they are all "social" guilds where everyone logs in every now and again to play for 1-3 hours.

My problem is that I am used in playing the game hardcore style, raiding in tbc in some of the best guilds in european servers. I dont want to offend anyone who wants to play the game just for fun, but i dont want to waste the next 2 years i have of playing wow just playing randomly.

So i have decided to see if there is a chance i could start a guild in the shanghai server (server 1) either as alliance or pvp with a few rules to the exception.

*1. This would be a semi serious guild, not just a social guild
*2. Members would need to be logging on at least 4 days a week for at least 3 hours on each day
*3. All members would help each other in instances until we end up raiding in tbc.

again i want to say i dont want to offend any other guilds especially my current one ( cow eaters) but i am experienced player and im sure there are other players who want more out of the game than just socialising.

if you are an experienced player who wants to join a serious guild then please pm me or write a reply.

the guild would be called *Omega* as a tribute to one of the best guilds in the european servers ( i was an officer in it )

I will be rolling a human warlock or an undead warlock depending on which side mos people want to play on.

It would be interesting since indeed, apart from the Crazy on guangdong 4, most of us i think are more social guilds.

altough, don't forget the fact that being foreign on Chinese servers presents difficulties for that kind of guilds:
not many people who don't necessarily have time to play much for instance.
plus the servers tear us apart, beijingers can't pay on shanghai servers (too much lag) and vice versa.

oh, and one more thing, if you do create your guild, a pve hord would be a good idea, since none of our guilds are pve hord.

yeah i was thinking about pve horde actually.

its just that i have the time to play almost daily and i will get bored easily if i just log on to level and socialise. i want a guild that dos that too, but with some rules like, building up for raiding in tbc and not just random groupings.

i have the experience to make a raiding guild (dkp site, forum, website etc) and i know how to lead raids.

i would love to be able to do that here in china. so i will listen out for any volunteers and hopefully i can get around 10 serious players to join the guild. if more than fantastic.

ps. creating a hardcore horde guild on server 1 will be a first too i think. but if people want to go alliance thats no problem for me either. its just that horde would be a nice change.

We already have kinda HC gamers in CowEater, such as Salino, Arthur, Kenzaya, Purply etc..etc..
Create an other guild isnt the better way i think. It will take time for you to find at least 100people. In cow eaters we have chinese, french, englsh speakers, and more...

i am in cow eaters with the name kotsilimpas a lvl 2 warlock i just started chinese wow a few days ago and im waiting to get english version of the game. i think i will have it in 3-4 days, so i will reach level 70 maybe in 2-3 months.
whenever i have logged on cow eaters there are only 2-3 people online at any time. and the people online say they only play for fun not for hardcore.

for a hardcore guild to raid we really only need 10 good players that play 3-4 days a week. karazhan is done with 10. the new zul gurub instance for lvl 70 is also for 10 man. we would be going for those instances. first kara then new zul gurub.
then if we get more people we can go for gruuls lair ( very very easy instance ) and etc.

the best guild in runetotem (european server only has 24 members!!! and they all have tier 5 epics)
we dont need 100 players to start hardcore guild. i ahve had some responses already so i think maybe we will be able to get 10 players.

i like cow eaters please people dont think i am a bad person thats wnats to split guilds up or anything but i want to have a serious guild for tbc raiding not just fun.

panagotis, i used to play on guangdong server PVP also, i have a lvl 60 undead warock, he's sleeping there...
but i must admit i was borred a bit cause i passed alomost all of my fk lveveling alone, so long and borring... On shanghai server1 i cannot feel the same problem, we are more english speakers and it's easy to find someone to help you in the guild or out of guild for leveling. Also we have chinese speakers who can sepeak a very fluent english in the guild, thats easy to build a group for FB or RAID with them. At least now the raids should be 100% in guild, because they reduce 40 to 25 people. I like 5 people instances, will enjoy 25 people insance soon inguild. Since 1 year I'm hoping that hehe it will be soon now!

ok, more precisions: I was never part of crazy whatever guild in my server. It is just a few friends who liek to socialize in a game environment. I think it is pretty muh the same type as cow thingy guild.

I truely don't think that there is enough foreigner players that like end game to build a 25.

i know im not the guild master or an officer. im just a member that wants to organise eventual raiding in the guild.
maybe the guild website needs to be updated for others to see? i think that was what confused me a little bit. hardcore gamers that want to join a guild in shanghai can not guess that we have quite a few good players unless they see the level status on the website.
i will be online when you log on so we can talk. unfortunately i will not be able to speed level at the moment cause im still working on trying to get an english version of wow installed. at the moment i have chinese wow version and i only speak 3 words of chinese :/

since im not guild master of cow eaters the main priority is still to socialise but i think within that we can create a nucleus of 10-20 hardcore players that will be able to raid in tbc.

for any new applicants that are looking for a hardcore guild in chinese servers, i guess this is also the place to come. if we organise it properly like i think we will then we should be able to be raiding kara, gruuls lair etc by christmas and t4 and t5 epics should be flowing in the guild.

ganaat, i think you need to be buy a new cd key to be able to play on the shanghai server 1. the latency i dont think we can do anything about ourselves. the only thing you can do is:

1. get a better adsl connection
2. check the latency on the introduction screen when you start wow. in the chinese version it lists all four servers and under the names it shows the current latency you would have for each one. in the shanghai im on less than 100ms which is really good i guess

If you want to raid, the right place is not in cow eaters (i think i will not make glob angry if i say that). This guild is designed for fun playing as far as i know...

Nice to ear that ! Your welcome and we need more and more players motivated like you. We have all kind of players in our guild ofcourse. And you are waiting the same things as me. We will organize that for sure.
need someone like you to show us the way, we also have HEAL who is motivate in HC gamming and raiding instance. Most of others want it also but the life doesn't let us enougth time...Work, wife, children hehe I think a part special event for COWEATERS should be good for us on the forum, but there isn't all the players of our guild in the forum. We will talk about it with RomainH also he'll be online tonigth with KENZAYA (who is the main Host of the forum). We could create a new rank in our guild, we can do all we want... This is mainly to Ganaat since he is on the beijing servers. As you probably know i formed a guild called anarchy. We have a website and a teamspeak server, i have dkp systems and raid mangment systems from reading on the EU server.
Although we allow all english speakers to join, we are aimed at good raiding anywhere from 2-5 times a week.
At the momment 7 of my friends have created an account with the intention of becoming fairly hardcore players.
I already have 3 more who want to join and i am constantly finding new players from my school, most with past Wow EU or US experience.

We are on server Warsong- 战歌 Zhange , Bejing 2 (horde) and player is welcome, but know that we are aimed at end game raiding- we of course are aimed at fun so things like 5 man ragnaros attemps will alaways be an option:D

gonna add my 2 cents:

Cow Eaters have the most english speaking people ATM, i believe.
The server 4 people will probably never take the risk of switching servers, considering their level of their characters (level-wise, quantity of characters at top level, and gear wise).
I am server 4.
When / How would I do it? Possibly if i see a guarantee that people would be online enough and regular and following a raidschedule, as i am used to. otherwise it would be a pity.
Seeing as for how long CE guild exists and they have not been raiding, let alone regular instancing, i dont see this happen.
I am in no way critizicing. i am happy for people to play happily together. I simply need this endgame kick.

As for Server 4, No, we are not that many. The CW guild is about as often online as the CE guild (sadly). We are "regularly" online for the past time, as i could notice:
Deadanus
Naklin
Zarda
野狼 (aka Mark the brit)
Kaori
Scampers
Armageddon
and now, hopefully Tom with 新月

We are all in raiding guilds, yet for the time being scattered.
I managed to have Kaori, Dead, Zarda, Mark, Tom and Myself (Naklin) in one guild (chinese). Armageddon joined on his own behalf which is awesome.
Scampers will hopefully kick in sooner or later as well.

Why we raid together with chinese? Becaue we are in China and we are not enough to be purely foreigner. By enough i mean more than 25 people, as sometimes one person can be offline.
Now, Out of these people, Mark, doesn't spek chinese at all (except when he is drunk). Tom only spoken, Kaori just started lessons, dead a little, I do mostly, and scampers and armageddon have some base as well.
Zarda... hehe... well you know mate. :p
We help each other out in raids and stuff via Skype, how we communicate 90% of the time. Mark goes /dnd "whisper naklin", and people whisper me for him and i answer for him, being on skype for him.
works fine. we help each other out if/when we can.

You should make your own pick.

Pouet left for his own personal reasons. He levelled alone.... excuse me, pouet. you did NOT level alone.
You levelled alone from 6:30 - midnight. because thats when we had raid-time. Did nobody run instances with you? grind quests and mobs with you? ever? That sounds extremely weird. There must have been someone else on our server using your character then, if you forgot that.
Zarda has been levelling alone now from 60-65, and i levelled from 65-70 alone, ebcause i was offline for 2 weeks, and now everybody else is busy with a little more advanced stuff. And i will help zarda as soon as i have time as well.
But don't say you were like a hermit all alone in your world, please. That would not be right.
I think there has not been a single person for whom i did not give gold, craft gear, give mats, give enchants and what not so ever for free.

You left? then say "for personal reasons". but cut the crap.

Conclusion:
make up your own mind. your CD key is valid for both servers / realms.
you might as well create a level 1 char on both, drop by, say hello, see who is online and/ or come on skype for a round of laughter.
thats what i would do. levelling from 1-10 or 20 is fast. level chars on both if you like, check out the crowd and be happy.
i don't think you will get far without being in touch with chinese. be it as for raiding as for normal gameplay. so you should catch up some basics, as we all did. its a good advice. trust me.

ok i know the forum dont need to know all of my thoughts but hey

im going to stick to cow eaters. reason being is i would rather be in a foreign guild and just be able to raid in kara then, in a chinese guild raiding higher instances.

i dont think i will ever want to depend on others for raiding commands since i dotn speak chinese and it would diminish my playing experience if i have to wait for others to translate.

cow eaters definately seems to be the biggest foreign guild in chinese servers and the people there seem very nice. globuline has helped me to install the game and answer questions since day 1 and she didnt have to, and since i believe in loyalty i will try to raise cow eaters profile in my own way.

so i will speed level in cow eaters (once i get englishversion working) and try to get at least 10 man raiding there going.

ps. i will still level a lock in the crazy wairogens (spelling right?) incase things in cow eaters really dont seem to be as they are.

Hello all, that has been a long time;

to stick to the original topic, I'd say that foreign guilds would never be hardcore by lack of hardcore players (and more than that, lack of players). In fact, if we list every foreigners playing in China, you might find enough hardcore gamers to fill up a couple of raids but the problem is everybody is spread out among the various servers/realms.

My best suggestion for hardcore players is to follow the example of people such as Naklin, Dead or Pouet who gave up social foreign guilds to join hardcore chinese raids, and that with more or less success (ask them directly about their experience)(need to socialize and show some interest to written Chinese to that end, if you stick to English you will never interest anyone)

I'd say you will never run any raid within a pure foreign guild.

ok, maybe i can add my 2 cents here as well.

i started playing wow in china in march and i was concidered a "hardcore gamer" just because of the fact that I came from a quite successful PvE Guild as well...but you'll really learn fast 2 major facts for CWoW and CoW

1) In CWoW you wont need such thing like highlvl hardcore guilds...soon there will be random Kharazan GRaids, Gruul, and so on...especially in 3 months when you supposingly reach the 70's

2) CoW pretty sure will stay a "social guild" as long as we do not speak/write chinese.

3) For Arena it might be a bit less "frustrating??" - or lets say difficult.

4) I like my CoW's like they are. A bunch of funny and charming people who like playing, chatting and hanging around.

5) Do not underestimate the chinese players. It is just scary what chinese guilds/player achieve in WoW....our EUGuilds look like little babies if you would dare to compare....really! Scary..but its a fact.

So my adivce: If you have 24/7 time to be online and money rains from the sky....learn chinese and join one of these guilds...but CoW wont change.

well about the never being a hardcore foreign guild in china, i do think it is possible. I already have 6 members who are free to raid any nite (6/7-11pm) all of whom have previous raid experience. i have another 7 members who are either social or just new players but willing to raid.
in my school we have at least 50 wow players, just spread over Alliance/horde and various servers.
I have all necessary raid systems (dkp, teamspeak etc) and i have almost all my guild member's phone numbers etc (4 members live in my compound)

Also my school is a mac school, all students have a mandatory mac, when i find a way to quickly install bootcamp on my friends computer i have about another 15 friends who wamt to join, 6 of those x-hardcore raiders.

so yes, my question- i have downloaded bootcamp, but apparently it requires cds and some sort of cirtification.

help some1 lol

Are you a HC WoW player? Do you have previous experience raiding at lvl 60/70 in Europe? Do you speak english?(must have)

Then join "DM and Sons", we are about 20 foreigners who live in Shanghai, we are all lvl 65+++ (at leat the HC ones numbering around 10), soon we will mostly be lvl 70, our goal is to compelete various 10 man instances at lvl 70 and eventually move on to 25 man raids IF possible (limitation in available english speakers) =)

Our guild leader has experience at lvl 70 on US servers and = MT + our Raid Leader has experience from Khara raiding with his US guild. We play on Shanghai #1 Realmname "诺莫瑞根"... I am but an officer of the said guild....if u wish to join, then /w either Blaze(GM) Ladibird(me) Chraa(officer) and we will be happy to invite you once you have convinced us of your HC skillz and english speaking abillities =P

Yes HC as in hardocre, however u may join the guild if u arn't HC, though it would be preferable if guildies had the time to raid or 5 man instances at least on some weekends if not on weekdays =D

man, 5 man instances are boring after a while. Specailly with chinese. After a month of TBC they know every single detail of each instance. No mistakes - no deaths - finish in less than hour. I joined one team of my chinese friend - 5 man instances in outland - we did 5 instance in less than 5 hours. Over last week of holiday friend DZ got full set of T0 and i have complited my second set of T0.
I need KLZ and other lair's.........

Hey people, just thought I would also give my opinion. I play on Shanghai 1 (Maduolan). At the moment, im prob the one putting in the most number of hours in TBC. Kenzaya, Charly and Salino are also on quite regular.

Im also quite disappointed by the drop in players since the release of TBC. Im guessing some people went back to europe etc...

Anyway, I dont think that you need the Cow Eaters to be a serious guild nor do you need to set up your own guild. Join us and level up, then get through all the bullshit rep that you need for high level instances. Once you get to that stage then you have 2 options:
1. Play with 1 or 2 guildies in G-raids
2. Join a more serious Chinese guild that have some English speaking members...there are a few out there.

Anyway, I play pretty much everyday between 4 and 7pm. Contact me in game if you want more info

Not really laminebean, for us in Anarchy the current lvl 70s are doing gold runs, but when another 4 or so members hit lvl 70 (67 warlock, 67 paladin, 65 warlock, 61 rogue) we will be starting our KLZ runs.
Being an hopeless addict of raids i found 3 guilds willing to help our guild out (well because of the 2000+ G i have contributed in gold runs) and i also have made 2 "alliances" with chinese guilds whom the leaders speak good english and are also in a state with just under 10 frequent members to KLZ.

As a side note, if you have 6-8 members going KLZ it is extremely easy to PUG a chinese player for KLZ, ask him what he wants and make a fair offer for his loot (since the guild will be using DKP) the chinese are pro, PUGs are rly just like raidleaders on their own.
