they have a shanghai local number 24h. need to speak chinese, they dont speak any english.
PS: your problem also might lie in "I didnt change it (ever)", which is just a sign of bad care.
there are about 20+ known trojans and worms fetching ONLY wow acct. passwords and login info. good luck if you are running windows 32 bit or playing from a public terminal.

you can recover / reset passwords vie email, mobile phone (sms message), or even via phone with the9.
here it comes: you will probably need a matrix card to have been used. installed (maybe). but you will for SURE (just checked) need the password / ID card number used on registration.
i said so several times, a year ago. theychanged it, and they are even offering the option, in case you dont have your number, or forgot it or whatever, to change the passport number (this makes your account 1 week unavailable. deadanus did so).
if you guys NEITHER installed a matrix card, NOR used PIN1+2, nor did email and mobile bind on your account, and never wrote down or changed the passport number, then it simply means you didn't care enough about security and/or recovery.
sorry for being harsh, but it had been said several times by me and others. and seeing people whine now, .... well ...., all i can say is : told ya.
There isn't much you can do, except calling the9, maybe they will ask you for some sort of fax confirmation and so on. good luck, but as you lack on giving information of your case, it makes it hard to estimate your true problem (hacked account, password mismatch, etc....).
