Since a short time I moved to china but I still would like to play WoW
Whenever I logon to my account ( european ) I have so much lag here
I cannot play

Is it also possible to change my european account to a Chinese one?
And how do you do it.

Please help

You can use any WoW client you want, English, German, Spanish, whatever. However you have to modify a file or two, really easy though only takes 2 mins.

If you want to be able to read the Chinese text instead of seeing a bunch of ?????? whenever someone uses Chinese, you have to find and download the Chinese fonts that come with the Chinese version of WoW. Everything else works just great.

I can give you a hand when you need to set stuff up.

I'm in a guild that is getting quite large. We use only English in guild chat. Lots of people of all levels. We're in Region 1 (shanghai), on the 山丘之王 (<-- you won't be able to read that unless you get the fonts) server. Guild name is "the foreigners".

Shanghai and Guangdong share the same payment option thingy, so you can come try your latency on our server if you want. If its too high you can create a character on a Guangdong server without having to make a new account.

U know where i can download the fonts and how to install?

I don't know where to get the fonts. There used to be a link in a thread on this forum. Then it went dead, then a new link came up and that is the one that I used to get the ones I have.

I believe that the 2nd link has now gone dead as well. I don't know if a new link has been put up or not.

When you get the file you just plop the folder called "fonts" into your main wow directory and you're done.

If you can't find it online you can probably take a thumb drive to a wangba and copy the fonts folder.

Oke I got my Wow account but now im dealing with the fonts problem... ( you guys must be thinking oh noes another idiot )

I extracted the file from curse gaming unifont at the moment
the directory looks like this

C:\Games\World of Warcraft\Fonts\UnicodeFont

just like I understand it from the FAQ ( if im doing anything wrong sorry for that )

inside the folder I got 4 files:
unicodefont.jpg
unicodefont.lua
unicodefont.toc
unicodefont.truetype font file thingy

Still when I go to the realm list I see only ????

What am I doing wrong?
