hi all thanks for taking the time to read this ive set up a account in china and ive been playing on internet cafes with relative ease even though i cant read chinese well at all but now im trying to play with a english interface and im not sure how to go about getting the english version of wow for my personal pc do i need to go buy the english version of the game ?or is there some way to change the chinese free download version into english? either way works for me as long as i can make some sense of this game again

hey guy, i think the most direct way is to download the english version vis bittorren...and then change the Realmlist.wtf in the wow folder, for example: set realmlist cn2.grunt.wowchina.com, .. that would be ok...

after you download it
you must set the interface.on this windows you can see 设置 push it and You will find the word 浏览.push it and chose where you install the WOW path.

chose the server.
一/四区 for 1/4 server
二/六区 for 2/6 server
三/七区 for 3/7 server
五/八区 for 5/8 server
台湾服务器 for TAIWAN server
美国服务器 for American server
欧洲服务器 for European server
韩国服务器 for Korean server
and push 开始游戏 then it will start the WOW.

but what i mentioned is also no problem. coz i am playing this way....
I installed the US enlish version and changed the realmlist.wtf to chinese wow ip address.
I may copy the English version program and patches to a hard disk for lending if any one in Beijing need it...

ok thanks i did all that downloaded american wow and updated it and changed the name but now i cant sign in ... maybe i changed it wrong im not really sure i knew what i was doing when i changed it?

you patched already to 2.4
either uninstall, patch only to 2.3.3, or wait until tuesday.
chinese website has put 2.4 up for download, which means we go live on tuesday.

ok i did all that everything looks good except it doest show any information for realms besides type and capacity not even where i have charecters or the names of the realms ... help

... looks like it wants me to download the burning crusade which acording to the download will take till tuesday anyway .... so i guess ill finally be able to play from hom e on tuesday also do they ask you for your passport everytime you go into a internet cafe ? they do me and they refuse to let me use a comp without it wonder why

just cant get it to work... tried to change relmlist and config file. Even downloaded bigfoot now... its updating or something at the moment but I could try to login... and same thing. I come in to the real choosing page. Ive already created a char on that server so chould be np.
(got to run to school thats why I cant wait on bigfoot to finish updating hehe)

Hehe, u need ID to play in netbar.
But if you are foreigner u can get away pritty much without it. I'm asian, they always ask me for ID. Even i do undertsand it i speak to them in English and hand over 50 kuai as a collaterial and its usually ok.

what does this program do? Does it translate the game from chinese to english?
