I play on the Taiwan servers

I been using FRIZQT__ font for a while now, but it only shows simpl. chinese

So all Trad. Chinese chars show up as blanks, so I get blanks in people names/guilds/text etc...

When people /t me, i get half the message so I /r ??????

Strange thing if they talk in /s then I can see the text perfectly in the bubble

Well, I'm sure that if you follow our instruction on the writing hanzi FAQ + download a traditional Chinese font, everything should be fine.

edit: is there a website in Taiwanese for WoW? Cause if there is you should be able to download the language pack. You can on the Continental Chinese website. Just an idea of course.....

but you wont be able to write.... switch your non-unicode locale settings to chinese if your windows isn't chinese.

btw, i can type using changjie fine but the trad chars are inivisble but the other players can see them

same with my dmgmeters shows who did what dmg perfectly to others but i'm missing the trad chinese chars

so it seems more of a font problem

i have tried 20+ TT fonts to date and gave up a while ago

got it halfworking

i have 2 fonts named FRIZQT__ and ARIALN

i copied 2 TC fonts here and named them to the above

now i can type/see all TC fonts

only now I cant join a channel with chinese letters

I checked my system and my 'non unicode' is set to Chinese, but when I'm in the game (French version) I still can not see/write Chinese as I do with Excel or Word.

So I'm impatiently waiting a solution...the week end is coming...

2 things....
first, its friday (OYE), and i will leave office soon and be at home around 7 (all times, bejing / shanghai time zone) in the evening.
bad news for you: i will probably be hitting NEF where the sun doesn't shine, after "hopefully" getting down the nasty doggie in front of him faster than last week in order to get my shoulders and finally be able to say byebye to BWL.
So, judging by my n00bzor raidmates (they are....some of them REALLY are), we will wipe about 1-3 times on chromaggus and 1 or 2 times on NEF, and won't finish before around midnight.

By then: I will then finally, activate my lazy butt and do that tutorial. The font replacement is the first step. Good some of you did it.

Those fonts we tested according to readability and size, meaning this chinese / western font fits perfect in size (text wont be out of frame like with some other fonts we tried) and is readable even at 10px size (my UI is quite minimalistic, so i like it clean and simple).
Please feel free to DL it already (link up there) and try to your liking.
Create a "Fonts" folder in your WoW root directory and extract all the font files from the archive. You will see realmnames, player names, guildnames, etc etc....

the rest comes later tonight.....

and as a sidenote: for all those who use the fonts extracted from the chinese version. the fonts ara a little more "handwriting style" than my taste allows. they become quite unrreadable at smaller sizes and weak color contrasts. tryout the fonts from the archive and give me feedback. i have tons of asian fonts, and we went through about 60+ different fonts until we found one where the asian AND the western characters were acceptable (arial family).

they are more readable then the fonts from the chinese version MPQ file...
i know ^^...
plus they contain simplified AND trad chars (if i recall correctly)
