Starting with an idea from Naklin, and after having talked with some of you here, improving the forum layout and creating a small page for the glossary and for the guild members' characters is starting to be required.

We specially need to change the buttons' language!!!!

I really don't know anything about php (or any other computer languages) but I know a little bit how to use photoshop. We are starting to have some ideas for the graphics with dymé, but nothing done yet.
So if you have time and want to help us on this one, you know what you have to do!!

So, like Globuline said we discussed about it and we've though about some things...
I think first, we need to discuss about every body feelings and suggestions for the new design..

Me I am thinking about a classic world of warcraft background and maybe some chinese things inside and at the top right the three boxes of the game..in english, french and chinese ! because most of us speak chinese, english or french ! I think that can be a good idea

And also for the buttons, I think all in english and maybe chinese too but I think maybe it's not absolutely necessary...as you wish ! because the general language between us is english so...

and the buttons in a chinese wow style I think or something like that...

I am still thinking about the colours and others things, but now it's your turn to give some ideas !

how about we all who want to support this side, support it by being creative.
no matter if you have photoshop, or just paint shop or even MS paint, use it.
whoever has an idea, submits and posts in this (or a new dedicated) threeat, layout ideas or full layouts or just some elements (buttons) he/she finds or creates herself.
later a few chosen people make a selection and cluster 1-3 layouts in photoshop, publish the layout file and we all vote on the "prettiest"... ^^

thats how i did it with before community webs. usually works fine, and i am willing to contribute (starting this weekend), as webdesign / programming was part of my prior job.

PS: the version of phpbb you are using is prone to exploits, i think. try to check on that, pls. would be sad to lose the forum.
phpbb is very easy editable. if you have full access ot the source on the webserver, i can teach very fast over chat, how to create template files so that we could even let people chose their fav skin (nude night-elf anyone? ^^ )

could be a cool background (Yes it's an official Blizzard pictures for its calendar), without the month calendar on the left and the non simplified Chinese logo.

On the official forum you can also DL the official forum template.

But I'm not sure about the colors. Yellow is not really...er..... heroic fantasy.... How about a daisy the cow grassgreen??

I think the templates are great, the Alliance one would fit for us ^^
but the colors are...maybe not good I think...

Maybe everybody could say which colour he prefers and we will decide then...A meeting on MSN is a good idea too but our people is all around the world, (china, france, england.....) so maybe it will be difficult lol, but me I am available every week end and nights (most of the nights)(paris time for me)

your backgound image and button are great globuline, you should be able to adapt them to the background of the forum...maybe we can put something in the image on the numbers to hide them...but what do we put on them?? image of what?? what do you think?

and for the buttons if we do them a little big it will be ok I think,??

I will try to search some others templates for the forum...

you can heal th calendar part.... its just fractional amounts of image data to be restored manually... about 1 hour of work...possibly less
