I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials to protect my computer.

Months ago, MSE detected Skeleton.exe was doing some abnormal actions and asked me to upload it to the MSE server for further analysis.

Weeks ago, I launched the Skeleton.exe, MSE popped an alert and told me about the threat:
Code:

    Category: Trojan:Win32/Bumat!rts
Description: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.
    Items:
        container: F:\World of Warcraft\
        file: F:\World of Warcraft\Skeleton.exe
        container: F:\World of Warcraft\SimpLauncher_3_1_3.rar
        file: F:\World of Warcraft\SimpLauncher_3_1_3.rar->Skeleton.exe
What I should do now? I haven't played WoW for more than a week.

Well I would call this a false-positive. Most of us, ie, 99% of us use this file and 99% of have never been hacked.

So-- ignore it is my advice.

HOWEVER-- it is possible YOUR copy is infected. So perhaps you should clean it out (and your system) and get a new copy.

1st point: for any of us who have a decent anti-virus, this is bound to happen.. as usul mentioned, however, 99% of us haven't been hacked by using Skeleton.exe.

2nd point: follow Usul's advice, there is always a chance your copy might be infected...

I followed and downloaded my copy from the FileFront. I haven't been hacked too, without account matrix protection.

Should I ignore this threat?

MSE says 'executes commands from an attacker', am I the 'attacker' to use Skeleton.exe to execute wow.exe?

probably a false positive. MSE is a bad program, I remember not being able to start the official version of AION on my computer with this antivirus on my system.

If you want a good antivirus not too intrusive I recommend you AVAST.

I only have Sophos but it won't even let me download the skeleton.exe ...sends it straight to the INFECTED folder.

You could try Avira Antivir, which is one of the best free Antivirus programs in my opinion. Should work fine with skeleton.
