Considering Transfering _

Greetings,

I am currently playing on a PVE server on Realm 5 in China, but am not really enjoying myself too much, largely because the people are not very helpful.

I am considering transferring to a realm 1 server in Shanghai, but I have a few questions:

1. Are there any PVE servers that have a large foreign community, or only PVP? If not, how does a PVP server differ from a PVE server. (Sorry, I am also new to the game.)

2. Are the people helpful? For example, if I wanted some help power-leveling in instances, would people be willing to assist? That is one aspect I miss about playing with other westerners... they tend to be generally more helpful. I played UO for a couple of years, and was always impressed by that community.

3. What is the lag like? On the server I am currently playing on, I have next to 0 latency.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

PVP vs PVE:
The main difference, in my opinion, between PVP and PVE is, that on a PVP server you allways can be attacked or attack the opposite fraction, eg. you are on horde side an alliance player can attack you or you can attack him anytime, with some exceptions.
On a PVE server you only can be attacked if you want too. You can join a Battlefield or do Arena. Another option is to flag yourself so that the opposite fraction can attack you (in this situation you still can not attack the opposite fraction unless they flag themselfes or attack you).

Concerning your lag, I guess the easiest way to find out, is to make a human character on alliance side on the desired server and walk to Stormwind, run arround and see how your connection is. This will give you a rough indication how your connection is to the selected realm/server.

Transfering:
There are some realms that can transfer, but only a few.
Please check the official cn wow site.

Thanks for the replies. Smile I read that Manduolan cannot be transfered to... what a pity. I really would like to play with more foreigners, but I have spent money on another server's character. Sad Maybe I will do it anyway when I get paid again.
