Rectum here from bronzebeard! As the servers are down for at least a couple of weeks I have spent the last 2 days looking for a stable private server with a decent ping to play on from china.

www.wowbeez.com seems to be the best. Decent community not full of annoying kids that don't wanna pay subscriptions, the guys there were very helpful.

I recommend rolling on the northrend server as its not as OP as the others (no +3000 STR weapons and moderate XP acceleration). Gonna use this for the duration of the downtime, to get some practice in on the new instances ready for WOTLK.

All instructions are on their site and if u vote on 5 sites every 12 hours u get gold of T6/7 tokens.

You will need to patch to 1.3.1 so i recommend a fresh install so u dont bugger up your CWOW directories.

Any problems connecting try dropping any non windows firewall or enabling access, also delete ur cache folder prior to connection. I'm getting decent ping 80-200ms.

haha! that's not a bad way but i found another fun game online, an FPS to accurate. It's called crossfire but u'll need a QQ acc to play...

Its only a temporary thing but i'm gonna use it to get to know the new instances for tanking. There are a load of guilds here, i havent joined as i'm levelling up. Its a fast enough xp boost to keep u going but not so fast that u have to skip areas or get bored. I've gone from 55 to 63 in about 3 hours, but i've been pissing about with stuff. DK's do work, a few quests are bugged but only for pickups and they have included a vedor that u can just buy these quest drops from. TBH i found DK a bit gay, its not a pally and not a warrior, I suppose if i spend a bit of time on it i might like it. If you just want level 80 action, the other server on there has insta 80's, didn't wanna do that as i wanna see the new contect unfurl before me ^^ ..saying that i'm stuck in zangermarsh..for like the 9th time!!!! all raids work and the new expansion (yeah 2 behind in china now , Uludar is workinmg but a little buggy. laters!

Ok here is a quick how to if u need it..

u can either download and apply each patch, big download has them all for most languages i think..the link to the latest is here....

you can navigate the site to find prior ones. There may be a problem patching from our current wow.exe as i think its a china only version and the patcher looks for a valid previous one to update. I just downloaded the whole dam thing again to avoid any complications. I'm not very technical!

is a torrent link, you will need to patch up to 1.3.2 at least to be able to play wrath.

once u have it downloaded and installed. go to the folder, then data, then enUS (or enGB or whatever language u have) and find the realmlist.wtf. This is the file u should already be familiar with and have changed to play on the chinese servers. open this with notepad. u will probably have 1 to 3 lines of text here..delete the lot and type in...

set realmlist wowbeez.no-ip.org

nothing else..and save this.

next go to wowbeez site and register an account name and password. wait 5 minutes.

while you wait, go back to your folder (main wow directory) and delete the folder named "cache"

use WOW.exe to start the game, input ur already registered account name and password and boom..connected!

unless u want to play on a "fun" server where everything is OP and dumbass, select northrend as ur server. (the others u start at 80 and everyone kills you with ridiculous weapons.

Plays like a faster grind version of blizz's quests are there (although some are bugged). every 12 hours go to wowbeez website and log in, vote on 4 sites and u get tokens, u can send these to ur character to get gold or Tier upgrades.

If u have anyproblems let me know and i will see if I can help, I'm pretty shit with PC's tho, so unless its a problem I've had and overcome, google is your friend!

actually, will it work if I install Wrath directly or do i have to restart from WoW?

as long as wow is patched up to 3.1.2 and wow.exe is the 3.1.2 version it will work for wrath

so basically re-download WoW until patch 3.1.2 and im okay and ready to go

yeah , think mine only patched to 3.0.9 or something, i got the last patch to 3.1.3 from startagy informer, only like 7mb, drop it into the directory and double click it. Well got to level 66 today, gonna call it a night there now. rested xp is awesome so will craic on after work tomorrow, hopefull get started on the northrend quests and instances!!

good thing i still saved my WOLK copy of WOW after installing a fresh one weeks ago to be able to play on CWOW ;-)

Well stitch that's an interesting question. And I can answer easily. Do it at your own risks ^^. There is few chances that your screen red with a big spider on the middle laughing at you, but their servers will be sending a lot of stuff to you computer and they can send about everything they want, so it least get your antivirus updated that s the best you can do.

Me gonna be online soon, has been like a fight to get everything installed gonna tell you why.

So I started yesterday with my enGB wow patched till 3.0.3 get it slowly patched till 3.1.2 after 6hours of highspeed download on my 512kb connection. So got connected select the servers, mouthing on my keyboard the fingers trembling mouse pointer already waiting on Create new char button when suddenly I see an error message saying I'm not running wotlk but Tbc ^^. Was like Oo OOOOOkkkkaaaay

So went on wow-europe to dl the wow installer and blam installer cannot be downloaded caus of wathever problem they had on their website so I finished to download a downloader on a third-part website.

So let it ran it whole night and boom morning got an updated wlk version. BUT... it did switched my enGB to an enUS ^^. so all the patches downloaded yesterday had to be redownloaded lol.

better work in 30min or I quit I swear lol

Other than that I made a brief coming on beez servers but seeing the numbers of bugs and the crashs I had to stand I moved on RTK. Seems a little better but you have to farm a little some mobs to get some gear and money. I m questing in northrend on a pally called bolomas right now, it s so full of magic. hope seeing you there guys then we could try some 5mans for fun would be great.

Last 2 days i been patching right up to current US version from scratch on a completelty new fresh installation of WOW on 1 of my other drives. 1 patch was 4.2 gig, then last night i did wrath which was 1.9...its now patching a few smaller 1's and i think i should be able to play today... am copnsidering playing legit on my old US server but lag from here might be too slow...

Whats your ping like on your current private servers...I will go to the fastest ping

p.s I found patching from Blizzards default server was very slow, in fact it was saying i was behind a firewall all the time, and the speed was like 2kb/sec

Hey Guys you all there haha. So about the private servers there is the beez wow Rectum has been talking about. You can get instant lv 80 or you go on the less crasy one and start at 55 with some gear etc. ping was no more than 260ms for me. Unfortuntaly I got many game crashes and I ve been loosing time looking for quests who were in fact bugged.
So I moved on RTKgaming.com they work on wow 3.0.9 so you need to downgrade if you patched till 3.1.2. To do so you delete the patch.mpq in your data folder and you lauch a repair, then your game will reset to 3.0.1 and you just repatch till 3.0.9.
I'm on the darkstorm server, you start lv 70 with absolutly nothing lol, but each time you kill monsters they got a lot of
green stuff on them you can resell for fast money. Not mentionning that a quest in northrend get you 470G at least. You also get crasy xp as well, so I'm already 73 after a few kills and quest completion. but well it's more to see some content than enjoy leveling with some "rules".
If you guys come we could try the new instances would be fun.
My chars there is a paladin Bolomas, it s on darkstorm server.

bah no problem let s meet on beez wow then, found that some quests are bugged too so nvm lol. would be cool if we could get in some 5man instances there. Lv rate is so hudge, and quest bugs so frequent it s not fun to lv solo at all.

i found that the RTKgaming server was too old so i switched again to a, for now very nice one, called www.naxpgaming.com

they have like 8 servers, one of them is my favorite: blizzlike. a little bit higher rate than original blizz server, but still just starting from lvl 1

if anybody comes to look for naxppgaming.com look for me on the classic blizzlike server as Draeumes (Draenei Mage)

Guys I moved to naxpgaming.com it seems to be the only place I have the less connection issues. They have a blizzlike realm but well, starting from lv1 or jumping out of the window, I m still wondering which one I prefer, might jump. Besides that they have a blizzlike highrate, still need to grind some stuff and the progression feel a little bit messy but might be the one I ll end in. Otherwise there s an Arenafun, you go buy your gear to vendors, gem enchant etc and gogogo arena powa. so if anyone interested to do some arena for fun, might be cool. My wish would be to start on a normal rate blizzlike realm at lv 70 in ok gear with some g but looks like it s not gonna happen

i am on naxgaming now, and the servers seem stable. I can come here to play but i dont feel like levelling a character again from sctrach unless its in fast mode. What server you guys on and whats ya name?

Nah I quit.... Was levelling up but thinking its kinda ruining it for me for when WOTLK arrives. SO i learned a couple of instances and my way around dalaran and thought enough is enough.

I've gone and downloaded the 14 day trial of EVE online and started playing that. Pretty good game but fukkin complex. Still will pass the time til servers come back up.

Hey Ashra. Well I didn t enjoyed the private server experience too. It s too buggy or laggy so I m gonna skip this shhhh. I already tried eve online trial and didn t pass the character creation screen, well I did but once the ship was in space I didn t know what to do lol. So gonna pass it too. I'm tempted to install baldurs gates 2 or diablo 2 on my pc and have a little fun on this.
