Is there any way to highlight, copy and paste the text in the chat box? I want to copy the chinese text so i can paste it onto an online translator. Would make communications a hell a lot easier.

Also would be nice to copy the Chinese names too.

Need it also but I think they used to talk with some "shortcut" so

I use an addon called Prat.
Colours names in class colors, tells at which time the msg was sent, ect...

I use a small addon called EasyCopy (found on Curse web site), it works fine for me...

I'm using Prat too but every time i copy something in Chinese it pastes it as a bunch of question marks...

I tried the addon Elephant as well and it did the exact same thing. Any ideas?

I think it depends on where you paste the chinese characters. For example, when I copy-paste something from the game to Google Translate, it works perfectly, but when I want to find out a chinese name on the armory, it gives me the weird symbols. Perhaps try to mess around with the windows configuration menu. (or send a message to bolo..)

It's strange, i can copy and paste Chinese characters outside of the game with no problem i just can't do it in the game. I even tried copying something in Chinese outside of the game and pasted it in the chat bar and it still didn't work.

Guys this just means your country settings aren't chinese, if you dont use a vpn you can use applocale check the guide below the; how to install guide, under the remark getting ??? when typing / copying.

Well i guess this has to do with your country settings in windows, if you make them chinese it probably works.

Actually, I've found something amusing with prat and copy/pasting chinese in-game and "out-game".

It seems that Prat or whatever translator you have opened in your browser, will sometimes successfully paste and show Chinese instead of gibberish.

I'm able to paste into WOW, but I can't take anything out of wow. I assume this is because my windows 7 is English? I can type Chinese characters on my computer...

Victory! I just run wow as admin and change the top right to Chinese, works.

What do you mean by changing the top right to chinese? i got the exact same problem as you and crom, and applocal doesnt seem to help.

if you copy/paste from wow to windows you have to make sure your keyboard is on chinese input mode, otherwise it will paste garbage.

Anything that was made for 4.0.1, therefore, most or all addons out there.

try the chat addon prat. If they have an updated version ofc.

prat works great in 4.0.1

i am trying easy copy and i have gotten similar errors as other people. when i copy in game to an internet translator, i get garbage. my locale is all correct and everything. looks like this 5Çø¶äµ¥µÄLM ¸ü¼ú

not sure if this might help, might be wrong do and you have the right settings.

hmm, so i just changed my settings to default then changed em back to chinese locale etc etc, restarted and it works. Also, i do not need my keyboard input to be in chinese. works great. My knowledge of the chinese language can only go so far, this will help A LOT. thanks again guys
