I've been in China for a few years and during the first years I played NA-WoW a lot -- I had a level 70 before it was even possible on the Chinese servers. I quit for what I suppose are the usual reasons, the time of day I was on and the crazy high ping made everything suck on NA-WoW that I had once loved.

These days I'm very interested in starting Chinese-Wow and while I realize that it's not possible at this moment (because new accounts are not available --- talk about poor timing) I am looking to make some connections with some foreign WoW players and hopefully get on a server with some English speaking people and join a foreigner/foreigner-friendly guild.

I have played up to level 70 on an NA server as a protection warrior, but will be restarting hopefully with my Chinese Fiancee as a Paladin/Druid combo.


So here are the questions:

When can I get an account on WoW-China?

Has anyone considered making a torrent of WoW-China with English patch or does such a thing exist?

What servers+sides+guilds have English speaking friendly people on them?

I quite wow because of all the patch and because of work and family. But would like to get into it. This stuff with the 9 has really messed me up but I am trying to get my client sorted.

Intrested in meeting some folks online, or even about in china, ir or when I get it going again.

When you do make an account, I would recommend CN1 Bronzebeard (horde side). We have an english chat channel and alot of foreigners

Otherwise if you used to play Ally, here is our ally server : CN1 / 马多兰 / PVE

I think CN1 / 马多兰 / PVE would be a good choice because it's PVE and it's Alliance, that would be the same as I used to play mainly.

It would be really nice to be in a guild that even had a website in English, it's too crazy to hope for.

What region is CN1 / 马多兰 / PVE located? Is it central China or something else? I see your in Shanghai Nous?

Hopefully I can get a couple accounts made soon.

How is the economy? In all my years online I've only bought small amounts of gold from friends, is it recommended/required to keep up?

my suggestion would be to join a foreign friendly guild and they will suport you.

personally i do not think much of buying gold, sort of ruins the game for me, but everyone should do as they wish.

eehhmm, sadly some people here were unlucky, and got their account banned, due to an ID issue, netease mentioned that it was because of illegal issues, eg. buying/selling gold, i assume. you can find the thread on the forum.
i just hope they get everything sorted out and will be able to play soon again.
basicaly it's your choice, but i think everyone gets caught one day and it sucks to loose an account cause of small amounts of gold that has been bought, even if its only from friends.

BTW most of us are chinese, german or french.

Concerning gold and leveling do not worry about that...

Read some threads, just near yours, u will get that. That already existed.

ToT do you use a web translator for English? Anyways I don't see any relevant threads cover my needs exactly, if you have one feel free to post a link. Also I would think any thread older than a couple of weeks wouldn't be accurate anymore.

Hopefully this beta ends soon and I can make an account, although right now me and my girlfriend have started on AION (region 1, server 1) and we are kicking ass with a templar+cleric combo. It has a lot of nice feature but lacks some of the polish/cheese of WoW.
