Hey guys, new Xpac, new adventures and new forum skin.


Ok so here is the new theme. The previous one sucked, agree.

There might be a few glitches depending the navigator you are using. Thanks a lot to those that report bugs and stuff to me.

The forum work the best on Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Safari.

Glossary website will follow soon.

Any comments, suggestions welcome.

Whilst I like the new skin, I must say that I preferred being able to see the 'last poster' rather than the 'thread author' in the forum index.

Maybe you could insert the name of the thread on each post, at the moment it's on the first post, but not on the following ones.

oh and the EDIT button on your own post and REPLY button on the others, would be nice to have

Yes it's to have less text everywhere around the post. You can still see the post title you are reading : in the taskbar or browser title or browser tab, and small yellow # next to the date will show the link of the post with it's name in the address.

About the buttons, you should already have the "edit" button when you mouseover your own posts.

ah bolo, don't know if you did this on purpose, but it seems people from Shanghai 1 Guandong 4 and shanghai 5 area 8 have the same name color.

Btw some might have noticed their signatures are not fully visible. It's intended. To preserve the lisibility of the forum, signatures doing more than 250px height and 700px width are automaticaly cropped.

I wouldn't suggest navigating the forum with a smartphone or anything in the likes.

Any chance of a mobile version please ?

gonna see if i can improve it a little on mobiles.

Edit : mobile version won't be possible caus you litteraly need two versions of the website with a shared database, and this forum is owned by forumotion and they don't give any access to the servers and files. Even skinning the forum is limited by this.

Access by latest smartphones is still very good and Works well no Need to have a Special mobile Version.
I use blackberry , Nokia , Sony Ericsson and iphone/itouch and all are ok.

All in all Bolomas, it's a really nice updated look and feel. Some great work you've done on it, so many thanks for the work you've put in to it thus far.

Oye. Just wanted to know if some ppl find the new background a little too bright or if it's fine.

I'm using a fixed background that stretch with the screen. As this method isn't(wasn't) so used before, some browser scrolling can become very lagy depending on your config. Most browsers latest version does fine but I have to say, Firefox 4 just handle this the best, it's smooth as butter.

It's perfect for now mate. I'll repeat myself on this:

Would be nice if we could rip the vocabularies directly from the .mpq's database.
I had a try at this some months ago but had some trouble sorting the datas. The same word has the same ID within the languages but they aren't on the same lines when you rip them off the mpq in cvs format, and couldn't figure how to organize them, once in excel. ID43 english would be in A43 and ID43 chinese B47, etc.

If someone is good with excel macros and is interested to help we could discuss about. Would be a pretty sick database.

to polish the skin I added a new CSS3 style to the tables. Little downside is you need a recent browser to see it.
IE doesn't support it so I made a fix that use the old style, but if you come on the forum and see no tables at all(only text over background) shout it here and tell me what brand/version you are using so i can fix it.

I am using IE8 version 8.0.6001.18702 at work and overal it seems to work and I can see everything just fine.
when posting it works, but if I choose the option "reply with quote" I get a white box instead of a dark background, so I can not see the text of the quote aswell as what I am typing, due to the fact of the white background. will check with EDIT in a second after posting this to see if the same thing happens as with reply with quote
EDIT: happense with edit too. Also when I select the preview option it will direct me to the page where the box will be white
sort of funny typing without seeing anything

using google chrome now and it works fine when posting, there is no white background.

another thing I noticed on both browsers are the boxes that appear when you move your mouse over the "Official links" on the top right of the page.
due to the fact that you can see through the box you will see both texts overlapping, eg when moving the mouse over "World of Warcraft China" the words "World of Warcraft Taiwan" and "Official website" are overlapping.

Oh yeah still haven't reworked this menu yet. I want to use some javascript to add some nice fading effects and stuff so only gonna be fixed in the following days
