Simple question: How do I go from 3.2.2.12484 to 3.3.5a


Basic info:

on the batch file that i used to get to 3.2.2.12484, i did the restore thing. However repair.exe doesnt work. Just says it cant connect to the server bla bla bla

the restore in the batch file doesn't revert the 3.2.2.12484. That is, if its meant to do that.


I really don't want to redownload WoW. My internet is really slow.

So once you use the restore option, you start to apply manually the patchs from 3.2.2.a to 3.3.5.a (refer to guide for patch links). There's no need to start a repair.

If the batch didn t revert the files maybe watch if you have some wow.exe.bak, launcher.exe.bak and battle.net.dll.bak in your wow folder. If you see them delete wow.exe, launcher.exe, battle.net.dll and remove the .bak from the other files.

If you don't have such files, then it means you read between the lines of the guide, and I can't do anything

As for the repair.exe, try later or tomorrow, servers don't have 100% uptime for what ppl have experienced, also check it's not blocked by your firewall or other stuff.

3.2.2a always says "you're on 3.2.2.12484. you need 3.2.2.10505 to apply this patch" or some jazz like that. Or am I not using the right patches?

Once you restore your version should be back to 3.2.2.10505

Did you use the batch to patch your client? RESTORE only works if you patched the client with the batch and didn't touch or move a single file afterward. I really made it as mistake proof as possible, but if you don't stick to the guide, then you'll mess your install.

As I said, check again if you got some files finishing with .bak(as backup) in your wow folder. It's the 3.2.2.10505 version files and you should put those files back instead of the current 3.2.2.12484.

Here are 2 Problems with the batch and patch updates !!!

1.If u have moved/renamed ur WOW folder after applying the patch the restore will not work !!!!!

2.If u have installed one proper WOW (no matter which language or Version) aplying a patch will not work !!!


I guess in ur case its like BOLO said above or u had the patched wow just copied and updated/installed a chinese WOW which is not patched yet to 3.3.5 so the patch always reads the registry and tryes to update ur chinese wow which is still on 3.2.2 12484

Stiich it doesn't matter if you move your wow folder after using the batch or anything. The batch doesn't need the wow folder path to work, it only needs to be inside the wow folder.

Now if you got both chinese and foreign client installed it can happen to have conflicts when trying to patch, that s true. I think if that the case for you you can find on google how to wipe your wow install from the windows register.[url][/url]

Another thing is when you start the batch you have to let it finish what he is doing. In the end you should see a message saying the restore was successful. If you close the file when there s just a black screen then it means you didn t let it finish what it was supposed to do.
