So I log onto my hunter this morning to play a few AV matches before work. As I start to play, I can't help but wonder where all of the alliance players are. There are 35ally/35horde, but I'm surrounded by horde everywhere. I open the map and see a blob of players in the starting cave. I go check it out, and this is what I find.....



18 of the 35 are BOTTING in the cave. There are always 1 or 2 botters, but 18!!! Ridiculous. Why bother playing a game if you don't really "play"?? On US/EU servers, these players would be banned fast, but The9 doesn't seem like that want to be bothered with losing the revenue.

With the changes in 2.0/TBC, the honor grinding will be removed from the game for BGs and will hopefully mean the people that go there will actually HELP their faction.

In the past couple of days I've been playing a lot of AVs. Horde probably wins around 60-70% of the time. I think alliance wins AVs on most servers though.

I was in a rather long one yesterday and the alliance actually did a nice job getting a jump on the horde with getting to the boss. They spent 45...yes 45 minutes trying to use a bug to kill the general without first clearing the few mobs out of the way. Much easier to just kill them IMO...but we ended up losing while they fucked about with the bug.

Much of the time, I myself don't have much of a choice but to go "everyone for himself", as I can't read what's happening. That's no excuse for the other 39 players however.

I'm sure many will still bot their way to a full set of GM gear when the patch gets here, but at least it isn't a long grind for honor...and after a couple weeks, the botters won't have a reason to be botting AV. Sounds like your guys are at least doing SOMETHING....not just standing around in a safe cozy cave.

I inspected a Marshal Priest yesterday. He had 1 HK and over 100k honor for the day before. Pretty sad.

Sadly, the9 hadn't even started to code the expansion for Chinese language until after the agreement was reached early last month. They must have been too busy banning botters HAHAHA. I just can't get how they seemed to think beginning it sooner was a bad idea.....I mean they KNEW they would be releasing it eventually. I honestly believe they were just taunting Blizzard for more money, like 30% of the Chinese revenue isn't a crazy amount of cash as is.

uhm.... TODAY, the 9 actually officially launched ads for TBC, and the OLD US TBC site is in cihnese now (presenting outlands, dranei / bloodelves, etc)

translation is friggin fast. that not what they are working on.
thye have server issues. our servers are topped out as is (i admit my server being one of the least affected by queues and lagfests). its upgrading servers, connections, and some admin shit.
plus, stamping CDs, printing boxes, shipping out the game to retailers, etc.

... for the9, the custumers don't have importance, and they are not credible for me now. they must give us a date, if not that mean they are not profesional... i'm sory to said, i'll not give 1 more RMB to the 9, i definitly stop to play this FKING game for a long time...

4 other things, our guild grow up very slowly (since i went to france 1 month i saw when i came back only 3 or 4 people added in our guild ...that's a pitty... 4people/months... hug...). That's lower than i can do in a week.

i'll only play on PVP and on the fake server to TBC (just to have a look), when naklin or DA will setup it !

pouetpou why would you wanna play on a "pvp" server? The game is already boring as it is, playing on PVE makes it even more boring.

Trust me, PVP does open alot of windows that are closed to PVE servers.

for example if you're a rogue or druid and are engineer, on pvp server you can create an exploding sheep and go to some lowbie are and kill them with the sheep while stealth. lol They will remember "The-sheep-from-hell" for a loooong time. Some noob might even report it as a bug to GMs lol.

Or mind control alliance and make them jump off a cliff or into lava pit.

all these are closed to pve servers. that's why I never in my life would consider playing on a pve server.

Before Dishonor Kill (DK) was introduced, people actually have their own battleground in hillsbrad, we get no rep. or XP. or anything for raiding there. We just do it for fun. and I gotta tell ya- that experience was priceless. Like lord of the ring battle, It put the "WAR" into "Warcraft"

Now with the new system the whole WOW world has been cater for wussies. even the PVP ones, but still- it's better than PVE.

y at the beguining i didn't know this game, and mmorpg game at all... so i followed globuline, weirdal and krougi on the PVE server with my friend and then we created cow eaters... i must said that, if i understand well before the diference between PVP and PVE i'll never go inside a PVE. For me the difference wasn't clear ... I Was a noob in mmorpg lol...

I not *too* sure, but I think the battle grounds in a PVE server only merge with other PVE servers. On my server I've never seen anyone botting since the BG merge. Everyone fights!

If you DO plan on switching to server 4, consider joining my realm BING FENG GANG for lowbie friendly lvling or deadanus's realm Aodelanke which is more raiding focus but got more foreigners. Both are horde

basically tre / sainan / gretchen / twisted / groomsh / etc, are all still levelling.
i could see sainan's raiding skills while playing a rogue in naxx. and he was doing VERY fine.

i cant wait they get 60.
add the fact that TBC will come out, and we have a 10 ppl raid for SURE, and a possible 25 raid if they play well, because for last endgame things we can get them into good guild all together.

point is. in our BG, they dont bot.
ownage is right. point is, when i go kill some cultists in silithus, i gotta be VEEEEEEEEERY careful, or chose the time of day wisely (2-4am anyone? ^^ ). because you WILL have alliances popping up and killing your bum if you are not. thats when you get pissed, after 2nd time, and you start whispering every single horde on that map to team and grind / kill together. but first its revenge time. adn then you hunt down those nast alliance gnomes (they fly high when your killing blow is a crit).
then you farm as a group.

then you are bored, get over to blackrock and gank all those sill groups going to UBRS / LBRS, make a fast detour to the forst south of stormwind, with those 20-30 ish alliance ppeps grinding the graveyard, and you go nuts AOEing them. its like x-mas.

levelling in stranglethorn is DANGEROUS. you will learn to avoid it. same goes for hillsbrad. it still is dangerous.
basically, death is most of the time around the corner.

but most fun comes when you read all chat channels spammed with " ALLIANCE CAME WITH 2 RAIDS TO ORG!!!! EVERYBODY PORTAL BACK !!!! "
you have immediately all chans spammed with "TEAM ME", big guild leaders teaming god and their mother, mages opening portals everywhere and people stoning like crazy.
doesn't happen that often, because it requires organisation, but it happens. and when it does, its FUN!

same thing for getting into instances, mate. you go to blackrock mountain at 7:20pm server time, and you see more skelletons than players online. everywhere.

basically the fight is at entrance for mostly MC, and then when you go to BWL, the little balcony in front of UBRS/LBRS entrance. 4-6 people can hold that balcony against a whole raid if they play together well.

if they have a lock, then they can port more and more people through. i had nights where we needed 45-60 minutes before we had everybody inside the instance, because of the pvp on the way to the instance. thats why raid should move together. lol

now they learned.

This photo above was taken well after the BG merge patch. I wish our server was the same as yours...but even with the BG merging...many of the people in the picture are from several different servers. I guess it's not only ours that does this.

I'm bored and a bit disappointed in the9 myself. It is now literally months past the USA/EU release date of the initial 2.0 patch. Pretty sad. I'm certain that Blizz informed them of upcoming patches WELL before we even knew about them, so I don't see any reason other than greed as to why we don't have it yet.

As far as moving servers, I simply can't. I don't enjoy leveling characters from level 1 anymore, and have 2 that are already 60, and another nearly there. I'm not a member of Cow Eaters simply because the guild leader seldom plays (nothing personal against Globuline). I myself have been cutting down the amount of time that I play, mainly because I'm frustrated every Tuesday when the damn patch doesn't come. I'm sure that once it gets here, I'll again put more time into the game...and plan to create or join a guild then.

(*drums rolling*) a timeframe (i would have preferred a date, but hell, better than nothing. and especially if it confirms all ongoing rumors and possible underground sources)...

estimated launch of 魔兽世界：燃烧的远征 is May 1st, 2007.
They will most probably start upgrading / patching clients mid april (not sure yet). This depends if they to a PTR-like test or beta. they are still discussing on it. either case, mid april, some people will be starting to play 2.0+ or a select group of people will be playing tbc in a first chinese beta over 7-14 days before launch. (guess what i will be asking for over lunch..... ^^ ).

now, jasmine has been very nice, and she is looking for a new job that pays better. i got her resume on my email. anyone working in shanghai in a company where they might be looking for a management assistant, or people in administration / marketing, please pm me or post here. she earned at least the fact that i will try this here.

I believe that the initial frustration of leveling a low level character on a mature realm is the single-player-feeling on it, I reccomend you if you switch realms is to go where naklin, da, and me are(was?), and guild you immediatedly or alternatively you can go where ownage(irvin)) is.

yap. you should be immediately guilded either with the foreigners, pulling you, or in a dedicated levelling guild they have here for alts.

I joined the guild in october, at least 2months after you did, and i told you at that time: our guild isnt a raid guild, its a social guild, that was and is still obvious, most of our people come to farm a few mobs after work, thats what you never understood; we also discussed a long time ago about how to guild people, you told me its easy, just key in the nick in the invite popup, by experience on french servers, it takes a little more time to do that, even when the language is no problem.

further, its no use to mass guild chinese people, only a few of them can speak english and the chinese average level among our people is quite low, i think you know about that; the chinese mates you guilded all left away since im almost the only one to talk to them, im afraid it takes a little more than spelling nihao in pinyin at first meeting to keep them among us, also that level is enough to join a G raid but makes it impossible in joining a guild raid: how can you decently expect anything if you cant read the instructions for the next boss strategy? experience in Gold MC can help but for TAQ and NAXX how to do?

I also feel ressentment in your post and I would share it if I didnt choose to take it as it comes. Fersure deguilding and rerolling are the way to go ahead but your statement is a bit hard since even you were helpless in making things better.

We wiped on the first attempt, and being one of the first rezzed, I thought it would be a good time to go /AFK and hit the WC while everyone buffed up. Im not the guild master, nor the main admin of the forum; even more I share some of the feelings of Pouet, for different reasons though, but fersure I wouldnt be so bitter with people's work, people with who I shared time to level, especially if my own work isnt better than theirs.
Anyway Im talking only about myself and not defending the others, still I woulndt stone anyone, since the old shandong proverb says "if you invite birds in your guilds, how can you expect them to raid underwater?" solution: invite fishes. I totally agree with that proverb. If you invite chinese, speak their language; if you cant, find people who can speak english or french; if you cant either, dont make anything and do not complaint. that might be a little trouble in the first times, thats my only point here; sure if you are going to TAQ on a regular basis, then you quickly get used to it. I fully agree with that integration spirit, some of us may try to change guild as well, at least for their main, and let the rerolls in our current guilds.

Just the risk of repeatedly getting ganked while leveling isn't enough to motivate me to move I'm barely able to even motivate myself to level my mage with rest xp as it is. Level 59.5...and I'm bored to death killing anything LOL.

Troutman I don't know if it works for alliance, but as horde I gain my last level killing bloodelf and demons in ashenvale. The demons drop felcloth and the bloodelf drop 5silver a pop. the best thing about these mobs is they have very low HP and they should be green to you. which means you'll kill them FAST.

works for melee anyway, don't know how it is for mage.

Other things for you Ownage... We all here contribute to the good working of the game (foreign client) since the beguinig, it's not only 1 people. And if i permit to talk like that before it's becaue i have all my reason about it. I didn't said that to Krokro in particular ! And krokro wasn't our Guild master, he arrived after we created the guild (for your memory) and he play in chinese...

However I just think that the original intention of your guild master was to bring together a group of like minded/same-language-speaking people to socialize while playing, and to advance in the game together. It's just that maaaaybe he/she made some bad decision starting out, but to discredit their good intentions because of whatever reason that cause your frustration would be uncall for......I mean com'on it wasn't all bad, was it?

I do agree after reading these post that cow eater seem to be more for casual players and crazy wai guo ren(or at least aodelanke) is more for hardcore.

Yep, I'm aware of a few good grinding spots to knock out the last level, it's just sooooooooo boring to grind anymore. I've actually been slowly getting xp in the BGs...which is much more fun. PvE grinding is too easy. I don't think I could take doing another from level 1, as much as I'd like to join an active group of players on another server, especially in that if/when TBC does get here, I'll have 3 to grind to 70 LOL

I sure wish the9 would at least make one simple change for now...and just make the Marks of Honor from the BGs stackable to like 200 so I'd have something to do lol.
