Hello All

This topic is as heads up information and for possible Troubleshoting on the upcoming Cataclysm release in China.
!!!Follow all steps at your own risk,as we dont know yet if it works,make sure to backup your WoW Client before doing anything described below!!!
All the info should help to get our EU clients ASAP working after the update.

Patch Mirrors:

1. DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR EU CLIENT TO 4.2 !!! CHINA WILL HAVE 4.1 at the Cata Release
2. Update your EU client to:
3.3.x → 4.0.1.12911 Parts 1-4 — Full (~4.9-5.3 GiB)
2.1 Manuall Patch to 4.1a (14007):
(If you use the launcher it will update imedietly to 4.2!)
3. Courrently the chinese patch is WoW-3.3.5.13930-4.1.0.14250-CN
3.1 There is a diffrence between the Version number 14007 vs. 14250

Hopefully the Version number does not make trouble if we exchange the files as before from the chinese client, i guess Bolo will have a nice Batch file later if thats the case.

Ok there seems to be an issue wit updating the EU/ES client

patchign up to 4.0.1.13205 after 4.0 requires two patches with both work fine and there .exe files in the folders, however from 4.0.1.13205 to 4.0.3.13623 there are 4 patches to download which DONT have an .exe file in the extraced folders only MPQ files. With this being the new way of patching according to blizzard they are updating through the launcher and you acnt do it seperatly.

Thus being the problem being that the patcher wants to take it up to 4.2

I tried copying over the files in the folders in the hopes of it patching ti up but nada it still wants to patch to 4.2

How about if you try to update when being offline ? Can you try now?

Sorry i cannot try if thats correct my client was patched as above before 4.2 was even considered.

But personally i believe what will work with MPQ patches, is to just switch off zour internet connection before starting the patch if it cannot connect to the server online it schould install zour patch files you have in the folder even if its mpq.

so disconnect zour router or switch of ur inet and just start the downloader or game i believe it will start to install the patch files u have.

Again i have no version to test it but u should try it

Funky thanks a lot for what you are doing, it's really much appreciated. My poor laptop is so full i can barely create a text file without having a disk full warning.

Edit2 : funky if being offline doesn t work try to copy the patch folders into the update folder into the wow folder. if it doesn t exist create it.

I just wan to get this patched with enough time for any problems so it gives us 10 days if i get this done tonight for everyone to patch it up

Short add mpq files have to be always in the update folder and I just try it on a backup if ur not online it will patch from the update folder as long as the patch matches the update priority : )
