Hey guys, I already have the whole wow series including the Cataclysm CD.
So when I do a clean install and open up the wow.exe "without" any patching
done, its already saying on version "4.0.0 (12911) (Release) Sep 2 2010".
So my question is, I wouldnt need the BIG patch to go from 3.5.5 to 4.0.0.12911
would I? I am just wondering if someone can tell me what patch order id have to
patch from 4.0.0.12911 as what im doing now doesnt seem to be working.
I am on a foreign client and when at 4.1a I still cant connect. 3 times now
ive installed the bloody thing! lol. I was playing fine before the big change! ha.

Get a Chinese client. We haven't found a fix for the foreign client yet.

If u want to patch u have to do it manuall there is a thread in the forum that explains it

I have been doing it manually! though they are somewhat mixed up! lol... Its ok, I seem to have sorted it now, I found a decent patch in order guide which has extremely fast DL speeds too! im downloading at 1mb per s/m whatever it is. Try it out if you want here: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/world_of_warcraft.php#401pc_us its not mentioned in your guide.

Just another question though, a foreign client would be able to connect right, just the language and all would be wrong etc...

@Urubaen How to do that? just copy the chinese root files and past them in my wow folder over writing the ones in there? or...

If you will do that you can directly download the Chinese client.
The files you would need are almost 80% of the Chinese client!
That makes no sence what you are trying to do. Leave the eu client and wait for a fix. Get achinese client if you want to play

Right ok... and 1 final question, sorry about this.

But in some of the new patches, they are not a double click to it yourself exe like before. They are in a rar file, and when you unpack them they are like this for example "wow-update-13287.MPQ"
and also where does the "WoW.tfil" go? or whats it for? .. I cant patch past 4.0.1.13205 as im stuck again with this problem.

There is a guide to patch manually by funkyging. You can only patch up to 4.1.0.14007 and no further. We've already tried modifying and nothing is working. You have to download via the Streaming Installer the Chinese client if you want to play now.

Nope, im just patching ready... I am sure you awesome guys can find a fix sooner enough and im willing to wait! just this patching thing is making me pull my hair out! lol...

...15gb in 20 mins... what the hell am i doing wrong!?!?! Mals is off and i am still 14 GB to go since yesterday at dinner.

lol guys this is china. Apparently uru got a 12.5mb connection. Perso I got a simple adsl 120kb/s max, which means it takes me more or less two days to download those 15gb.

Agreed,I started my download yesterday at around 2 am... I still got 11gb left.

@urubaen, Did you get those 15gb in 20 minutes?

Narith- Just a FYI but my husband said even the people who bought the Chinese version CD were having to download more patches. (2GB) But he said you can go to XinHua book store to get the OFFICIAL copy of the CD if you can because he's never heard about WOW CN having an official store.

We finally got both of our computers online with the Chinese version but I still have to install all the addons.

all this makes me want to sneak out of work and go back home and see how far along my download is!!!!
