yes, the locale.mpq contains a lot of these kind of dataes; ( i just found out the reserved names lol you'll be surprised at some of them :chuckle: [Bradpitt, camerondiaz,...lol)

But I don't think locale handles all the dataes, particularly for the quest logs. it mainly only has display datas, and mostly for the tooltips for items , item sets information, tooltips for talents, skills, etc.

I don't know about the quests informations, but i am sure that at least it has the item's tooltips one; but it contains no data for effects and the others, just the name for the equipments.

Wanna try something? (for english wow 1.2.3 players) open your account on a different machine, preferably with chinese wow, then play around on orgrimmar/ironforge, then log out with alt+f4.
Go back to your computer and play on the english version: notice that many of the item's name are in chinese?

man.. been playing TW 2.0.11 for a while now.. its killing me really need the US client. Anyone know other people who are working on this?

ain't working, i just did a small change, I changed the emotes texts to english and the game refuses to open, and it is only a 60kb file.

then i get bugs (HEAVILY SEVERE BUGS) because i use english 2.0.8
and i have no twn version to try with and compare except some small files of the root.

my reckon is: either i get the TWN version or latest when it hits mainland, we get aruond.

I have cracked my own original coy of lemmings 1 on 3.5" floppys back in the '80. that was my first bypassed game i ever did. and i have never stopped since that. i was with fscking FLT, for christ sake. and i dont care to pull any strings until i get this, even if i need to call up god and his mother. i just managed to get a huge step. but not being on these forums for one week and then coming back and seeing a morale drop from evberybody, is making me feel weird.

i am busting my balls, and i am getting forward, step by step.
lets keep this post for people making tries or changes in code, in order to keep it objective. thanx

PS, i need info on all tries you guys made and what you changed and what you did, on which files.
like a tech board. would be nice, because it avoids meh losing time on some aspects

U might want to try 2.0.10. TW servers are right now 2.0.11. They are ahead of US version by only 1 minor revision number, same as EU.

We really appreciate your help here, thanks a lot Naklin! And no, we are not having a morale drop as you say (well, at least not me ^^). I can play and understand the chinese version just fine, but I'd MUCH rather play games in their original language. Also, the chinese version has translation errors ALL OVER the place. Anyone who has played both versions can testify that. So, I'll keep searching for ways to make it possible to play. Once again, thanks!

We going to modify the Enwow so that we can pass the version validation. So i been thinking, is that possible that we change the font on the taiwan wow to english so that when we log in, using taiwan client but everything display in english ?

can someone DECOMPRESS, EVERY .MPQ that has been modded between 2.0.10 and 2.0.11 ? then decompress the same MPQ files from the US version, and go file by file, if a file is missing, let me know? if all files identical, check for size variations and timestamps.

we just need to find the resources that are ADDED to the TWN version which are not in the US version.
make a patch.MPQ, rewrite the .exe wrapper for using different memory adresses, and its working.....

Have you changed realmlist.wtf back?
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
change it to TW

BTW the servers aren't back up yet. 8 hour maintenance FTL.
