I have setup wow with a french client and did the manip explained on the forum to play on the chinese server.
The problem is I am under windows vista pro and despite my manips the games says that my interface is corrupted :'(
Does someone can tell me if the manip works under vista or do I have to give up?

My friend just brought a Asus notebook that came with windows vista. He end up reinstalling XP. that's the best solution I can give you. we've tried everything.

I have Vista too. When I reinstalled WoW I had problems too. Check the realmlist name, and all the files that can possibly contain the realmlist name (I had 3) in the main repertory.
It was changed to an old one.
I think it's more due to the old version of wow that bugged, but might be because of Vista. Anyway, other problems with Vista, ask me.

By the way, do you have this right click problem? Sometimes, I can't use it for a while.... And have to reboot so it can work again.

if you use vista with xp games, its bound to have problems. the current hardware just isn't ready for vista, my friend's notebook got like 2G of ram, duo core, nvidia 7700go and still can't run alot of games.

After he install XP WOW,HL2, Oblivion etc etc etc ran smooth as silk. I really have no idea what in vista's code that suck up so much system resource.

I highly recommend you to install XP instead, there isn't any function in vista that XP can't do for a gamer anyway. Microsoft just made it look 1/2 better than XP but use more than twice the resources and rename alot of bugs as "functions".

yes it's possible, and it's easy to find a thread about it on internet. but a lot of things to do lol... things to do to instale the game on linux + things to play on chinese server lol...

i know this is possible, but this is more complicated:
games are designed to run on a certain hardware and this hardware needs sharp drivers to run smoothly. Even though some doods try to make those drivers for linux, they can't really compete with the hiuge team that develops for windows

Yeah, Linux is more and more competitive... For exemple in France (l'Assemblé nationale) choose to use a version of Linux (ubuntu) against Microsoft... And more and more people wil use Linux because they developpe good and very simple interfaces to use it now, since many years.
One of my friends who do MAO since a lot of years, just pass to Linux too. And it was an important deal when you have more than 20G of VST... J'etais DJ, je faisais des lives hardtek avec des electribes et des vieux synthes. Apres, je me suis mit a mixer du hardcore et un peut de dub (je sais, c'est pas tres compatible , mais c'est ce que j'aime)

VISTA CHANGES:

vista will actively protect memory adresses in order to prevent bootloaded rootkits, etc.

the special loader we have uses one of the protected adress ranges, in order for it not to be detectable by the warden (clizzards own tool to avoid cheating / botting).
vista does re-assign the loader to a different adress range, making it 99% of cases detected / disabled by the warden, and OH, hapy life, then showing that your game files are corrupt.
