I have had no problems logging into Taiwanese servers with the US client until this patch came up. I ensured my Realmlist.wtf is modified, the servers are up but I still get this error message. I've re-installed the game but to no avail. Any ideas? I am using the TW servers, so I don't think the guides that pertain to mainland Chinese WoW is applicable. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you. Cheers, Wendy

The best way is to make sure your client doesn t auto update with US/EU maintenance.
Usually it can be done simply by not starting the game via the launcher.

I am also having the same issue. Unfortunately, I've already upgraded to 4.3.2 (Upgraded and Re-downloaded everything)
I read in a different thread that WoW is now backwards compatible, so how come 4.3.2 Wow is unable to run the 4.3.0 TW/CN version?
In any case, would anyone be kind enough to share your taiwanese client battle.net.dll file and wow.exe file?
Thank you in advance. | | |

I'm reinstalling TW client to obtain the battle.net.dll file as well as the wow.exe, then reinstall the US Client and finally replace these files after.
I'll see if that helps and will update you.
| | | Thu 2 Feb 2012 - 8:16 # | You don t need to reinstall the US client, just backup the files you will replace with the taiwanese ones. And when you install the taiwan client you can grab the needed files very early, as soon as the launcher download and install the updated tools, no need to stream the rest.
To have two clients on the same system just rename your US install folder, then in control panel uninstall it, when it asks if you want to delete the files answer no. This way you can install the taiwanese client without any conflicts.

I have tried your solution but the "unable to validate" problem remains. I replaced the TW battle.net.dll and wow.exe in the default game folder then just run wow.exe (to avoid the launcher), however, it still just opens up the launcher, and run the patch.
Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?
/Wendy

Seems like they won't let me play until I have the patch.
| | | Thu 2 Feb 2012 - 9:53 # | I'm a bit lost too, I don't have any active taiwan client and can't do real testing.
What version is your US version? latest?

Thanks so much for your prompt assistance.
Yes, the file is WoW-4.0.0-WOW-enUS-Installer.exe. I am not sure if it's the latest client or not but it was the same installer I used to download the original English client that worked.
It's now a real pain getting to download the English client as I need to apply for the Free 20-level demo, after which, they detect my Hong Kong IP address and switch my Battle.net account to the TW page and I can only download the TW client henceforth, so I need to create a new e-mail account each time I need the English client and haven't bothered with this process this time.
Do you recommend that I get the latest English client or should I just wait out the patch to be released for TW?
| | | Thu 2 Feb 2012 - 10:17 # | Well anyway taiwan patch or not you need a working english client. But I don't really understand what you have on your computer atm. Did you keep a copy of your english client original wow.exe? if you hover it with your mouse what version number does it show.
Also you don't need to create an account to download a client. Just get the streaming client installer somewhere on the net and it will work. this link for exemple http://www.wow-patch.in/content/wow-streaming-client.php

Thanks for the link, that'd save me so much trouble down the road!
| | | Thu 2 Feb 2012 - 10:38 # | Well I fear I can't really help on this. Things I would try tho.
Try to put the taiwanese realmlist.wtf (backup the original one), if that doesn t work,
Try to log but just replace the battle.net.dll and keep the original wow.exe

Anyway, I also had the 4.0.0 version to begin with. But to my surprise, Wow.exe actually upgraded to the correct TW version (4.3.0) after the "setup" part was completely downloaded. So I immediately replaced the US "Wow.exe" and "Battle.net.dll" with the TW one. Subsequently change the realmlist file in "World of Warcraft/Data/enUS" to the following: set realmlist tw.logon.worldofwarcraft.com set patchlist enUS.patch.battle.net:1119/patch set realmlistbn "" set portal tw *and then it worked! I was able to log in and fly around before i logged off in 3 min. Now, if you somehow already used the launcher or it gives you any sort of "Download new patch Error", go to "World of Warcraft/Upgrade" and delete the upgrade file that it just downloaded. In any case, if you still want to give this a shot, please send me a PM with your email address, and I'll send you a zip file containing the TW version (4.3.0) of "wow.exe" and "battle.net.dll". Hope this helps.
| | | Thu 2 Feb 2012 - 11:16 # | jzmail if you hover your english wow.exe what version does it shows? Oh and wendy actually i feel it was your taiwanese wow.exe that wasn't up to date.
Jzmail if you could upload the two files on gamefront.com and post it here that would be sweet, maybe more ppl will need it.

My English wow.exe is the most recent 4.3.2.15211. I replaced both files and renamed launcher - it was initiating upgrade downloads and causing the 'patch needed' error.
And I actually just attempted to send the zip file to my friend, but gmail blocked it cuz it contains an exe file. Anyway, I uploaded the zip file onto gamefront...
gamefront.com/files/21281567/Wow-TW-4.3.0.zi p
*Edit* I put a space in between "zi" and "p" because this forum tells me that I can't post any email or external links yet.
