Hey there everyone.

My name is Ollie, otherwise known as Koops64 in the online world, and I'm highly considering to start playing WoW in the near future. I used to play on the EU servers back in vanilla, BC and WOTLK. But I quit half-way through WOTLK just due to the lack of interest/time.

After reading a little about the new expansion that's coming out very soon I've suddenly found myself very interested in the game again, even thinking about what class and race to choose in the midst of day-dreaming at work.

However, as you may well have gathered, I am in China and my Chinese reading is shit-poor and my speech isn't exactly great either. But, I am 100% fluent in English (I have to be, my job requires it). So, of course, I want to find a full-English speaking guild to hang out with.

Anyway, just a few questions before I finish this post.
1) Do I need to make a Chinese battle.net account to access the Chinese servers or can I use my EU account?
2) What are the monthly rates like to play in China?
3)Are you guys in need of any particular races/classes?

EDIT: Nevermind about the first two questions. I found the Account Management Guide by Bolomas. I'll just get someone to help me set up.
And if anyone wants to RAF me, that would be awesome =)

An Update:

I've made an account on battle.net.cn using my gf's id, so I'm a step closer to playing the game. But I used her computer to make the account. So, am I just able to download the game, or should I purchase it in a games shop?

Also, I noticed that the account displays the IP address of the computer used to create the account. Since I used her laptop, will this be a problem?

First you download chinese official client and it updates itself or download english client according to this topic change some lines and it also updates itself to the playable version.

in china we pay per min, using time cards, i usually buy them on taobao.

i played from work and home all year, different ip's, no problem, just make sure it's not REALLY different ip, like US or EU and it will be ok.

Sweet. Thanks for the info. I'm just downloading the chinese cleint now. The EU client was surprisingly fast to download. Less than 16 hours I think. Will try to pick up a time card tomorrow if the Chinese client is done downloading and all looks good.

EDIT: One more question. I understand that if you play WoW in China, then the expansions come for free. But what about the vanilla game? Do you pay for an activation key or do you just need to pay for the subscription?

You only need to pay the initial subscription fee which is 30 RMB.
