Hi I cant log on to wow when ever i try it keeps saying Data/interface.MPQ: cannot stream required archive data. I have update base 16516 and 16650 under data and last update wow-0-16650-win-final. If I delete these files will i be able to play or do i have to wait till 5.2? Also I had my launcher set to zhCN so not sure why it updated.If anyone can help that would be great. thanks.

The exact error happened to me too. Make a copy of your current wow.exe(5.1.0.16309). Upgrade to 5.2 and replace the 5.2 wow.exe with the 5.1.0.16309 wow.exe. Then you are free to play. Make sure to save your 5.2 wow.exe when cwow patch updates.

my wow.exe is 5.1.16357 I think its already upgraded to 5.2. how am I supposed to get the 5.1 version?

it should say 5.2 when it is updated to 5.2 completely. Try updating fully and replace it with your 5.1. If it still doesn't work i can send you my 5.1 wow.exe

Ok copying folders and backing up before i try this. BUT when i tried to log in earlier it wouldnt even give me the option to DL the update. asked me to connect to the realm then wouldnt progress... just stopped.

any advice while i wait for my copies to finish?

First time in months to log in to CWOW.

Steps:

1. Saved a copy of my old WTF folder from last working CWOW.
2. Fully updated game patch to 5.2 (US Version)
3. Deleted the WTF folder and replaced with the one I saved.
4. Changed the realmlist to point to china
5. started game using wow.exe
6. Lucky. I was able to enter game with just above steps of changing the realmlist and wtf folder only.

Hey, had to completely redownload Wow, now fully 5.2 but cannot connect, tells me incorrect version so I feel as though I need to replace with 5.1 exe which is now lost. Could anyone please send to me? would be a great help

If you have a fully updated copy of WOW 5.2, you only need to set the following line in config. No other changes are necessary as China's wow is identical to that of US/EU including hotfixes.

Set Portal="cn"

If you then always run the game with wow.exe, it won't automatically patch at inconvenient times.

Thanks Black for reply, but to be honest I have done everything as per normal, I was just hoping it was user error, but come to see that it isn't. Checklist:
SET portal "cn" done
config file set as zhCN done

so at the moment my mind is at a blank when I open exe, and enter info I get invalid version error

Maybe you made a mistake but launcher.db should be set to zhCN.
