Hey everyone.

I'm an American, late 30s, still living in the US. I've been playing WoW since vanilla release. Off and on. I am still in America but started studying Chinese about 5 years ago. I studied for two months in Shanghai at Tongji and Fudan and I love that city. Been there 4 times. Also in Guangzhou for a month.

I got a battlenet china account setup and played the trial back in Cata days with no major issues. However I was looking to try and possibly move forward with a subscription to a full account. I found some issue with trying to buy game time but think i resolved it with this site for game time if you are still in the US.

I can't post a link yet but its cn-usa.com/?cmd=_game&id=479&lan=CN&lan=EN

Not sure what anyone's experience here has been with that site.

I really enjoyed the Chinese client but also want to keep playing with the US realms as well. I have no problem with having two accounts but I opened a ticket with blizzard to ask them if its possible to have both installed on the same machine. Still waiting on the response. When I downloaded the Chinese client it completely overwrote my English one and vica versa. If I have to I'll just install them on separate machines.

Anyways I'm rambling, hopefully soon I will be hitting the Chinese servers and look forward to meeting people from Shanghai or wherever over there. I can't think of anything that might be an issue if the game card site goes well.

My Chinese is horrible though, despite studying for five years.

You can download separate clients on one machine. Just make sure the directory in which you're downloading another client is different from the original one. Instead of downloading 2 in the C: drive download the other in D:drive or whatever.

ill give it another shot, I can't really recall the exact issue I had at the time. Guess if its still there I'll soon find out.

I do have another question though, in the US market there are many selections to buy the game itself. I don't see options for purchasing the game on the Chinese site at all. (The only thing I see is a Collector's Edition package) Is there anything involved more than just downloading the client and then buying game time?

Seems like there should be a one time purchase to activate, like in USA you still need to purchase the one time $39.99 fee to upgrade from Cata to MoP.

You've only got to make an account and buy game time in China. Game is provided and for free.

Yeah, the chinese payment system for wow is way better than us/eu. Only pay for the time you pay and expansions are automatic. So easy.

Anyway, you can probably use exactly the same client to play in two realms. You just have to use Set portal="cn" or "us" to change between them. Not sure if character folder needs to be saved each time you switch, but probably not.

Oh, and welcome to the guild!

Looks like I got it to work, I had some problems with the installer on my main system but I downloaded it on my laptop and it worked fine, then just manually copied it to my main. Not sure why I didn't think of that before.

Yeah, I really like the time payment system, that way I am not wasting time with a blanket account and if I don't get time to play then I don't feel the pressure of having to. I'm going test out that link for the game time purchases.

Anyways looks good, thanks for the tips and welcomes!
