Hi guys, last few weeks I'm having issues with playing an Everquest clone
in the states with a direct connection. I already had an Astril VPN for
facebook and sure enough once I got sorted it was working well for that
game. (Shards of Dalaya)

However for the last couple weeks Astril has been preety troublesome as well.

I'm annonyed because when I first started I did not need a VPN to
play at all later the VPN worked great for a while and now it also doesnt work.

Another guy who introduced me to SoD has similiar problems in China.

Any thoughts? Is anyone else having problems with Astril or connecting to USA?

I should mention that it's Astril itself that keeps getting disconnected. It as if the link regardless of VPN or non VPN has become really shity. It's been about three weeks or more so it's starting to suck.

Have you tried updating? Mine works perfectly fine.

I've updated from 2.8 to 2.9 with no noticeable change.

Where do you use bounce through? I was using Taiwan for a
long time and it worked good before.

Also did you pay for stealth vpn upgrade? I'm only using open vpn
and as I said it worked great before.

Astrill have stated that, if you run a vpn through openVPN from within China, you will experience difficulties. They set up the stealthVPN service to avoid the issue, so you may have to get that to operate without problems.

No idea how it works and if its worth it, though. Maybe theyll give you a trial?

I'm aware of this warning, what I want to know is the actual experience of someone using it.

I haven't tried stealth-vpn but for games, it's not needed. Are the game's servers based in the US? Try establishing a connection there?

The only problem I have with Astrill is how it often hits 0 kb/s download/uplooad speed making the internet connection very slow. I just try to switch servers then.

No Problem on my side using VPN (FB,and all other stuff ) but to play games it is occkward and doesnt help.
Only used it once for Jedi RPG to get an account. WTFast is still the best way to go to play oversea games.
