Hello everyone, I am new to this site, accidently stumbled upon it through googling around trying to find a way to play WoW in China (on Chinese servers, with English language in-game).

I have installed WoW again, after being gone from the game 3-5 years. I have managed to logon the Chinese region (I chose 简体中文), after that I changed my wtf folder and got the game to be English.
All good so far, however when I tried to create a toon I saw a realmlist WITHOUT any realm names. I have created a toon however, and I am able to play, I just don't know on which server I have created my character - as the realm names are not visible. They are not question marks (???), they are just blank, what I see is:

PvP New Players
PvE High

and so on.

So my question obviously is, how can I see the realm names? (I have Chinese fonts installed on my computer, and my chinese is at intermediate level, but I just don't see the hanzi for the realm names at all, they are invisible).

And a less acute question: What are the easiest way to top-up your WoW account for playing on the CN servers? Through 中国移动充值卡？(mobile phone cards), or can I use paypal to pay for game time?

And last but not least: I am located in Beijing, where do all foreign-Beijingers play?

Bump: Just noticed, I can't even see where I have created chars! (there's no (1) next to the blank field where the server name is supposed to the stated) T_T

Edit: I have managed to get everything to work, by searching through these forums thouroughly (fonts needed etc).

Now I only want to ask WHY I can only choose servers from CN1, CN3, CN5 and CN10? I've been told Beijing is CN2 ? but there is no such tab at the realmlist, even though I am living in Beijing, not using a proxy, my IP is from Beijing university.

And secondly - do I need to grind all the way up to 100 (started at 1) , or can I buy WoW expansion and get boosted to 90? Can I buy the English version of the expansion, and play "it" on the CN servers??

Edit: In other words, I am on the Starter Edition now, how do I "convert" it? (just level up and when I hit the cap , 20 or 30, whatever, I buy game time minutes, or can I buy the game from the EU/US site and play it on the CN servers?)

First do not buy time on us/eu server it is useless for china part.
The chinese id you usedis it more than 18 years old ?

If it is starter edition normally buying game time should be enough to change it.

Buy card or use your bank card to recharge from battlenet website.

for cn2 i have no idea maybe someone else could answer this.

Yes, the chinese ID is my wife's, however I still get the tired time debuff (been around 36h only though since I created the account...will see in a day or so if they can fix this).

I see, so all I need to do is buy a mobile phone top-up card or something similar, and add that to my CN battle.net account for my WoW account to "convert" to a real account ?

No you should find a world of warcraft card buy it for 30 rmb.

you just do as i did the first time to buy it if you can't read or ask your wife to buy it for you.

If she cna't buy or don't have time just find a newspaper seller they should have it.

and show them a photo you took with the game name from your mobile they will know.

I just topped it up (for the first time) it was easy, however they have still not validated my account, so just have to sit around and wait I guess.....send them an email about it with my marriage certificate (which contains my wife's ID number and my passport number), hopefully that will be enough,,,

Edit: Is it true that the 30rmb I just charged only constitute 45 hours of game time? I mean, that's 1.5h a day, some days obviously I won't play, but others I might play 3-6h, so the average players I guess need to use 60-90rmb a month for game time? It sounds expensive for being China...

Hi, just stepping in, when you created your account did you use your own name? Because you need to use the Chinese name on the ID card to prevent validation problems. In the past you could find a form on the chinese battlenet to submit again your ID, dunno if they changed the system now.

But yeah make sure the account is on your wife's name otherwise it won't work.
