I forgot that thread which is an excellent idea:
foreword: pally's buffs are among the most powerful of the game; thats why they last only 5mins where the other classes buffs mostly last for 1/2h; things becomes interresting as we have more than one paladins in the group; unlike other classes, its really interresting to have several pallys in a group/raid, you can stack the blessings (and the auras in group)
about being a paladin:
casters desserve Salvation (even when whining for Wisdom: being oom is a priori not as big problem as loosing aggro for the tank); then a second paladin in the group will set Wisdom on casters.
For rogues as well, first is Salvation, their dps are much too high, it can be a real problem for MT to keep control of the situation; then Might for the second paladin.
Hunters: anyway they can loose aggro when they want, so the choice of the Blessing is pretty free (I will go for Salvation in raids, Kings in other cases, Light if I am main healer)
Paladins: Wisdom
then Kings or Might in dungeons, Salvation in raid
Warrior: Might or Light as first, the other one as second;
In the specific case of a 3/more paladins party, Kings and Light are the next on list;
The need of Light depends on the importance for the paladins to be healers; in some groups, paladins are main healers so Light is a must on main tank (even as only Blessing).
Blessing of Sanctuary is a very powerful buff (lvl 60 rank 3: -29 damage from all sources, lvl 70 rank 4: -80 damage from all sources), but only pallies spec protection will have it; to be cast on every classes, about higher priority for tanks (maybe the first one).
the choice of Aura is quite easy:
choose Devotion is the cloth/leather wearers are often hit by mobs (devotion will significantly decrease the damage actually received by the target) but with a strong core of plate/mail wearers, it doesnt change so much the damage
Retribution can replace and is a must when the battlefield is overcrowded with mobs, or in any case of fast attack from the enemies.
Sanctity doesnt change anything except slightly boost paladins holy damage (and priest holy damage, but priest generally damage via shadow)
Concentration is to be cast when the casters are often hit; the typical example is when joining a group as main tank AND healer
its efficiency is quite high and allow to do such a function (especially when boosted), maybe not if being main tank AND main healer though (that means the 4 other guyz cant be dps only)
The others are magical resistance, this depends on the type of enemies (Blackrock FB fire, Scholo and Strat shadow...)
While waiting for the next patch, consecration is a 11 points holy tree skill, and is the only way to make zone aggro (which is quite efficient if the casters havent rushed aoe yet)
NB: dont forget to recast Blessing after Protection or Freedom (especially Salvation on casters)
About judgement, some have a effect on time, others have a direct effect. I strongly advice to cast a judgement of Light (or Wisdom, depending the situation) before judging with Command/Righteouness
NB: some people plays without judgement, thats is wasting a very valuable debuff. At least, cast Light when starting the fight.
about playing with paladins:
learn to recognise the Judgement of Wisdom among enemy debuff (especially in long fight), that can helps to get mana very quickly: if oom, then use the wand (which has a fast attack and dont use mana) to recover mana very quickly (the results are amazing the first times)
Example of use:
This is how we used to deal in France with the vagues of the second boss of AQ20 (Rajaxx), the fight is long and a lot of casters/healers are oom much before the boss itself: for each vague we destroyed every mobs except one which must be under judgement of wisdom, then the dps turned off and all casters use wands on the judged target. Very simple, very efficient, you got a full mana raid ready to fight the next vague.
However, it seems that here people dont do like that, sometimes lesser raids wipe on Rajaxx..
Note: the extension to lvl 70 gives 10 extra talent points allowing us to reach every aura/blessing/seal
